WWE RAW Results: September 25, 2017By Cassidy| September 26, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After an assist from The Miztourage allowed him to successfully retain the Intercontinental Title against Jason Jordan at No Mercy, RAW kicks off with Intercontinental Champion The Miz and The Miztourage already in the ring for Miz TV. After welcoming everyone to Miz TV, The Miz says that, after he’s done with Miz TV, he’s going back to his home in Hollywood to spend time with his pregnant wife, Maryse, and discuss their future child. The Intercontinental Champion then quips that, unlike Kurt Angle’s son Jason Jordan, The Miz’s son isn’t going to be a “loser”. The Miz then introduces his guest on Miz TV, bringing out the man who defeated John Cena at No Mercy the night before, Roman Reigns. Roman makes his way to the ring, taking a seat before The Miz says that, first, Reigns defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania then Roman had an “equally impressive” victory over John Cena at No Mercy, saying that Cena referred to raising Roman’s hand as a “passing the torch moment”, asking Reigns what it was like to hear something like that from John Cena. Roman admits that, after last night, he respects John Cena and that is why he’s proud to say that he beat John Cena, saying that it was the “biggest win” of his entire career. Reigns then says that it’s been a long night, saying that he doesn’t understand why he’s sitting there talking to an “idiot” like The Miz. The Miz scoffs at Roman Reigns, saying that Roman considers himself to be “the guy” but, to him, the one holding the championship is “the guy”. The Miz then says that the Intercontinental Championship is perhaps the “most prestigious and honorable title” in WWE, saying that, at No Mercy, he proved that Jason Jordan is exactly what he says he is, a “loser”. Reigns responds by saying that he’s been in the ring with The Miz and he’s been in the ring with Jason Jordan, saying Jason is a “thoroughbred” and that The Miz cannot beat Jason Jordan one-on-one without the help of The Miztourage. Roman then tells Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel to go and get him a “beer” with The Miz saying that they don’t drink beer on Miz TV. The Miz then says that it’s “ironic” that Roman Reigns talks about The Miztourage because, when Roman first came to WWE, he “rode the coattails” of two Superstars, saying that, if The Miztourage was around five years ago, “nobody would remember The Shield”. The Miz then asks Roman what would happen if The Miztourage faced The Shield, which makes Roman laugh hysterically, saying that he thought The Miz was “joking”, saying that a fight with The Shield would be terrible for The Miz & The Miztourage. Roman then says that it’s not going to happen, saying that Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins are doing their own thing and he’s doing his own thing, saying that he has his own “direction” and that’s the Universal Championship, saying that he’s coming for Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. The Miz says that Roman Reigns beat John Cena once but asks about all the times that Roman Reigns “choked” against guys like Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, and Brock Lesnar. The Intercontinental Champion then points out that Roman got pinned by Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, saying that Roman Reigns has never been the Universal Champion yet Roman acts like everyone is “beneath” him. The Miz continues, saying that, since he came to RAW, he has been “carrying” this show and he has made the Intercontinental Championship what it is today, proclaiming that the Intercontinental Title is the title to have and he is the man to beat, saying that he will not be “disrespected”. Roman responds by telling The Miz “let’s do it”, telling The Miz they should fight before asking the crowd if they want to see him beat up The Miz. The Miz then tries to back down, saying that he didn’t say anything about a fight and telling Roman that he’s got a suit on. The Miz then says that he has a pregnant wife at home who needs him very much before thanking the fans and quickly leaving the ring with The Miztourage. However, The Miz & The Miztourage are halted by RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, who comes out to the stage to tell The Miz that he should tell Maryse that he’s going to be home a little late tonight because he loves the idea of seeing a match between Roman Reigns and The Miz right here tonight! The GM then says that The Miztourage are going to be in action right now, saying that Jeff Hardy may be unable to compete due to an injured shoulder, but Jeff’s brother Matt is ready to go, announcing that Matt Hardy will join forces with his son Jason Jordan to face The Miztourage in tag team action! With Jeff Hardy out of action with a shoulder injury that will keep him from active competition for several months, Jeff would be in the corner of his brother Matt Hardy as Matt would team with Kurt Angle’s son Jason Jordan to face The Miztourage in the opening match of the night. In the end, it was Jason Jordan taking out Curtis Axel with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, giving Matt Hardy the opportunity to hit Bo Dallas with the Twist of Fate as Matt pins Bo to pick up the win for himself and Jason Jordan. In a rematch from the No Mercy Kickoff, Apollo Crews, with Titus O’Neil in his corner, would get the chance to avenge his loss the night before as Apollo would go one-on-one with Elias. During the match, Elias would kick Titus O’Neil in the leg on the outside and Apollo Crews would briefly stop to check on his manager. Back in the ring, this would give Elias the opening he was looking for as Elias would wait for Apollo to come back into the ring before catching Crews with Drift Away, pinning Apollo to pick up the win. After the match, Titus O’Neil would try to get into the ring and Elias would kick Titus in the other leg and this would enrage Titus as O’Neil would pummel Elias in the corner before Elias escapes the ring, having clearly made a new enemy in the form of Titus O’Neil. In his continuing quest to end his losing streak, Curt Hawkins would await his opponent on RAW but, upon spotting an angry Braun Strowman making a beeline for the ring, Curt Hawkins would make a hasty retreat from the ring, quickly escaping into the crowd. However, “The Monster Among Men” would not be denied his destruction as Braun would chase Curt Hawkins down, catching Hawkins by the staging area. Braun would grab Curt by the throat and drive Hawkins through a table with a chokeslam! Braun then tosses Hawkins onto the stage before Strowman hoists Hawkins up on his shoulder and uses his running powerslam to send Curt Hawkins crashing through the LED board on the stage! As referees tend to Curt Hawkins, a furious Braun Strowman marches back to the ring and bellows that he’s on a “path of destruction” and he’s not leaving the ring until someone comes out there and gives him a “real fight”. The man who would answer the call would be the one man just crazy enough to actually want a fight with Braun Strowman and that was one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose! With his shoulder bandaged up following he and Seth Rollins’ grueling defense of the RAW Tag Team Titles against Cesaro & Sheamus at No Mercy, RAW Tag Team Champion Dean Ambrose would go one-on-one with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman. Despite the best efforts of Dean Ambrose, the power and rage of Braun Strowman would prove to be too much for “The Lunatic Fringe” as Braun flattens Dean with the running powerslam, pinning the RAW Tag Team Champion for the win. Following a successful defense of her RAW Women’s Title in a Fatal 5-Way Match at No Mercy where she defeated Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, Emma, and Bayley to retain the gold, RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss would make an appearance on RAW. Alexa says that she beat the best that the RAW Women’s Division has to offer at No Mercy but received no buzz or congratulations for her victory, saying that people are instead talking about the friendship between Bayley and Sasha Banks or the upcoming debut of Asuka at WWE TLC. The champion then says that she doesn’t need to “prove anything” to any of them because she “cleaned out” the RAW Women’s Division. This brings out Mickie James, who says that Alexa Bliss did have a big night at No Mercy last night before pointing out that she wasn’t in that match. Mickie then brings up what Alexa had to say about her on RAW Talk after No Mercy last night, telling the champion to repeat what she said. Alexa responds by saying that she has been a fan of Mickie James ever since she was a “little girl”, saying that Mickie was even on her “top eight on MySpace”, commenting that that was back when MySpace and Mickie James were “relevant”. Mickie asks if Alexa is “scared” before Alexa says that it’s great that Mickie’s “demographic” has someone to represent them before saying that she doesn’t want to see Mickie “break a hip”. Mickie says that the last thing she needs is for someone like Alexa Bliss to run down her accolades or say what she can or can’t do, saying that she has “broken bones, broken hearts, and broke down barriers for women” in WWE all before Alexa was even wearing a “training bra”, adding that it’s obviously still working out well for her! Mickie then tells Alexa to either repeat what she said on RAW Talk to Mickie’s face or get out of her ring, saying that the ring is no place for a “coward”. Alexa then reiterates what she said the night before, calling Mickie James an “old lady”. Mickie responds by slapping Alexa Bliss across the face before slapping the champion a second time, dropping Alexa with a kick to the face before “The Goddess” retreats up the ramp. Before he faces Braun Strowman on next week’s RAW, Seth Rollins would have some unfinished business on RAW as one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champions, Seth Rollins, would go one-on-one with “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus, with Cesaro in his corner. At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Seth Rollins delivering the King’s Landing to Sheamus, pinning “The Celtic Warrior” for the win. Backstage, Finn Balor runs into Goldust as “The Bizarre One” tells Finn that he is not a “victim” and that, last week, he didn’t ask for Finn’s help and he doesn’t “need it” because he can do it all on his own. Finn responds by apologizing to Goldust and the two appear to make amends before Goldust cheap-shots Finn, dropping Finn ribs-first on some equipment, further hurting Finn’s ribs. Goldust then tells Balor to “keep your friends close and your enemies closer” before Goldust leaves the scene, leaving Finn writhing in pain. Following their confrontation on Miz TV on RAW earlier in the night, “The Big Dog” would look to keep his momentum going as Roman Reigns would go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion The Miz, with The Miztourage in his corner, in a non-title match. During the match, Roman Reigns would take The Miztourage out on the outside with the Drive-By before walking right into a DDT from The Miz on the inside. However, Roman Reigns would rally, catching The Miz with the Spear, pinning the Intercontinental Champion to pick up the win. After the match, The Miztourage would attack Roman Reigns from behind, beating “The Big Dog” down before Roman fights back against The Miztourage, taking Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel out before catching The Miz with the Superman Punch. Roman then sets The Miz up for a powerbomb before The Miztourage again gets involved, this time using steel chairs to wear Reigns out. The Miztourage then holds Roman up so that The Miz can plant “The Big Dog” with the Skull Crushing Finale, leaving The Miz & The Miztourage standing tall over Reigns. The trio then leaves the ring as Roman starts to come to, getting to his knees and, upon spotting this, The Miz & The Miztourage come back to the ring to further damage Reigns as the Intercontinental Champion uses a steel chair to wear Reigns down again. The Miztourage then holds “The Big Dog” up again so that The Miz can hit a second Skull Crushing Finale, this time driving Roman face-first onto the chair! The Miz then delivers one last parting chair shot to “The Big Dog” before The Miz & The Miztourage stand over Roman Reigns, mocking the signature fist bump of The Shield. After Goldust attacked him backstage moments earlier, Finn Balor would be looking for revenge as, injured ribs and all, Finn Balor would go one-on-one with “The Bizarre One” Goldust. In the end, Finn Balor was able to overcome the pain and hit Goldust with the Coup de Grace, pinning “The Bizarre One” for the win. After the match, the graphic that symbolizes the arrival of Bray Wyatt would appear but Bray would not appear, but, instead, a child would eerily sing “he’s got the whole world in his hands”. After coming up short in the Fatal 5-Way Match for the RAW Women’s Championship at No Mercy, “The Boss” Sasha Banks would team with her best friend Bayley to face the powerhouse Nia Jax and Emma in tag team action. During the match, Sasha Banks and Bayley would work together to take Nia Jax out on the outside, temporarily taking out the biggest threat in the match. Shortly after this, Bayley would connect with the Bayley-to-Belly to Emma, pinning Emma to pick up the win for herself and Sasha Banks. Then it was time for a Certified G celebration as, after using a low blow to take the WWE Cruiserweight Title from Neville at No Mercy, new WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore would celebrate his title win on RAW with Enzo getting a “no contact” rule in place for the celebration, meaning that any physicality from any Cruiserweight will cost that individual a future title opportunity. The new champion would make his way to the ring, saying that everyone is “jealous” of him before saying that he has “mainstream power”. Enzo then says that he did what the other Cruiserweights could not do and that was make 205 Live “relevant”. The celebration would then be interrupted by the arrival of several of the Cruiserweights as Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik, Akira Tozawa, TJP, Rich Swann, Drew Gulak, Tony Nese, Lince Dorado, Noam Dar, Mustafa Ali, Ariya Daivari, Jack Gallagher, and The Brian Kendrick would all come out to the stage. Enzo would take this opportunity to insult each one of the Cruiserweights one-by-one. Starting with Rich Swann, the new champion would say that Rich was a “nobody” who “danced” his way to a championship before he danced his way back to being a “nobody”. Now targeting Cedric Alexander, Enzo says that Cedric is “the man that charisma forgot” before saying that he likes Gran Metalik but says that, with a “gut” like his, there is no way that he’s under 205 pounds. Enzo then calls Drew Gulak “Captain Underpants” before referring to Jack Gallagher as “tea cup”. Enzo’s burial of the Cruiserweight Division is then interrupted by the former champion as a disheveled and defeated Neville comes out to the stage. Enzo makes fun of Neville’s ears before saying that he can see the pain in Neville’s eyes, saying that “the truth hurts”. Neville says that “the truth is brutal” before telling Enzo that the new champion is such a “toxic little individual” that Enzo has alienated everyone that he has come in contact with. Neville then tells Enzo that, just two years after an uproarious debut, Enzo was “dumped” on the doorstep of 205 Live like an “unwanted little slug” because no one else would have him. Neville continues, saying that it was the Cruiserweights standing behind him that rallied for Enzo to get an opportunity in the division. Enzo argues that he is making them all “stars” but Neville refutes that Enzo is “nothing but a disgrace” and he has done nothing but make a “joke” out of the Cruiserweight Division and he made a joke out of him. Neville then says that, on behalf of the entire Cruiserweight Division, he is there to “end” Enzo. Neville then makes a beeline for the ring with Enzo begging Neville off, reminding “The King of the Cruiserweights” that Kurt Angle ordered that none of the Cruiserweights can lay a hand on him or else they would forfeit any future title opportunity. Enzo then continues to taunt Neville, saying that, during his entire time as WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Neville was never in the main event slot of RAW like Enzo is right now. The champion then says that the only reason that Neville and the rest of the Cruiserweights are out there right now is because he is a “star”, saying that he is “money” and Neville cannot touch him. Enzo then tells Neville to get out of his ring, holding the WWE Cruiserweight Title up in front of the former champion, again telling Neville that there is nothing Neville can do to him if Neville ever wants another WWE Cruiserweight Title match. Neville then looks back at the Cruiserweights standing on the stage before “The King of the Cruiserweights” decides that getting his hands on Enzo is worth sacrificing a title opportunity as Neville would kick Enzo in the mid-section before tossing Enzo into Enzo’s framed jersey. Neville then brings the new champion to the outside, tossing Enzo into the barricade before tossing Enzo into the barricade a second time. Enzo then tries to stumble away from the fight, but the other Cruiserweights block the path, allowing Neville to bring Enzo back into the ring. Neville then stuffs the no contact clause into the mouth of the WWE Cruiserweight Champion before leveling Enzo with a kick to the head as the other Cruiserweights applaud Neville. “The King of the Cruiserweights” then climbs to the top rope, delivering the Red Arrow to Enzo, leaving Enzo face-down in the ring as Neville glares at the champion with the Cruiserweights continuing to applaud Neville’s decision to stand up for 205 Live even if it means forfeiting the chance to get the WWE Cruiserweight Title back.
