WWE Intercontinental Title Belts: A Guide to the Gold

The oval belt began with the Rock in early 1998. It was held by him, Triple H, and Ken Shamrock for the next year and a half. By the time Val Venis won the belt it had switched to having the scratch logo. It lasted until 2010 when Cody Rhodes debuted the new design. If you just care about those who held the oval WWF scratch logo, that's... Val Venis Road Dogg Goldust The Godfather Jeff Jarrett Edge D'Lo Brown…

Lovecraft Country S01E02 Review: Whitey’s on the Moon – Jam-packed episode

Who is to blame for the “failure” of Star Wars?

Actually Rian Johnson knows little to nothing about storytelling in the Star Wars universe. Break down The Last Jedi into analytic parts and it's just an absolute disaster in terms of character and plot development. It pretty much highlights the worst of fan fiction writing. It is only because of that that people fail to realize is an actual beat for beat retread of the major acts of Empire Strikes Back. It's also kind of funny that people call Rian's…

BLOW takes us back to the era when Johnny Depp still cared

I'm sorry you think Johnny Depp's career went off the rails, and you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but perhaps you missed some of the roles he's done that weren't as widely publicised as his studio movies--maybe they fell through the cracks? Sure, he did Alice in Wonderland (I actually really enjoyed that, as a die-hard Alice fan, mostly because it wasn't a retelling of the original story) and Pirates. He also did Sweeney Todd, Finding Neverland, The Libertine, Public…

WWE Title Belts: A Guide to the Gold

Small correction: Undertaker and Mankind were the two people to hold the Smoking Skull belt besides Austin. The Rock stole it from Austin during their post-Mania 15 storyline, but he never officially held it as champion. Also, if you look at the belt, very small under the letter 'N' in "champion" is my name, as I was the original concept designer for the belt. I worked with J-Mar for a short time and did concept designs for several belts during…

The Expanse S05E05 Review: Down and Out – Darkness and light

"Maybe I missed something, but the revelation about Roci’s sabotaged drive seems to come out of nowhere." - I thought when Felip told Naomi that he took her to save her she realised the Roci wasn't safe. Lovecraft Country S01E07 Review: I Am – Hippolyta!

I didn't like this episode, with its focus on Hippolyta. I wasn't sure why I should be invested in her. Wasn't sure why she was being featured. Never identified with her as any kind of main or sympathetic character. Last I checked, she stole an orrery from her friend's house. Not a character that I'm interested in. Also wasn't interested in the random machine that 'opened the universe'. The hunt was for the pages, suddenly they've got this machine. Just....eh.

Lovecraft Country S01E05 Review: Strange Case – Uncomfortable viewing personified

I think you misunderstood that part. This show throws me for a loop regularly, but I believe George explained to Tic that his mother is the descendant of Titus, not his father. That would explain why Montrose was no use to the Sons of Adam other than to be used as bait to lure Tic.

Lovecraft Country S01E05 Review: Strange Case – Uncomfortable viewing personified

That has to be one of the most graphic episodes of TV I've ever seen! Seeing that initial 'death' scene was quite something. I thought the transformations wouldn't be that bad but seeing them in more detail as the episode progresses was just gruesome. That final scene with Ruby and the store manager was pretty brutal too! I thought Ruby would be more supportive of Tamara but as soon as she found out about her not having any qualifications she seemed…

Lovecraft Country S01E04 Review: A History of Violence – Biggest departure from the book so far

I want to like this programme so badly, especially after learning about the cancellation of NOS4A2. All the ingredients are there to make for a great show. I adore Journee Smollett and Jonathan Majors and think they're both incredibly talented. I enjoy folklore and sci-fi. I just can't follow along.

    NOS4A2 Review S02E10 Review: Bats – A little anti-climactic?

And in the end, it turned out to be easier to fell the great monster than it might have once seemed. But the evil spread is not so quick to disappear. After all the fuss, Vic gets Wayne out of Christmasland with little interference. He's still feral, but Tabitha puts him in handcuffs, which is kind of funny and sad at the same time. Tabitha and Lou figure out that the ornaments are key to the children's transformation, so Tabitha ...

    NOS4A2 S01E09/10 Review: Sleigh House/Gunbarrel – A strong finale

Since the finale is double-barreled (pun intended), let's combine them into one for easy review and discussion, shall we? Now if you'll recall, last week, Vic escaped her Bing imprisonment. As you might expect, Craig is rather miffed at Bing. So he goes after him. They tussle, but c'mon. Craig is no stringbean, but Bing is much bigger than him and has the survival instinct of a cornered animal. That is to say, Bing defeats him, bundles him into his ...

WWE: Who is the next big thing?

NOS4A2 Review S02E09 Review: Welcome to Christmasland – We always knew it would come to this!

Ever since Vic made it her mission to burn it to the ground, it stood to reason that we would one day see the battle of Christmasland. I'm not sure that Vic ever dreamed that she'd have to do it with her own child there, but like with Maggie's tiles, sometimes you get what you get. Wayne's arrival in Christmasland, though, does give us a new glimpse of the whole experience. Not only do you get your own pair of ...

Three big names still not in the WWE Hall of Fame

Of all the things the COVID-19 pandemic has caused to be cancelled, the nixing of WWE's 2020 Hall of Fame ceremony is certainly one of the least felt. I'm not saying the WWE Hall of Fame is a waste of your hard-earned ticket-buying money, I'm just saying that I've been to two of them and the highlight was in my first year when I met a Randy Savage look-alike in the bathroom. This year's WWE class was announced and ready ...

NOS4A2 S02E04 Review: The Lake House – Some hard truths this week

Right before I watched this episode, I watched Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, which also features Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, aka Bing. So it was a bit jarring coming back to the show. And back on this show, Wayne has started sleepwalking apparently. I say "apparently" because that's what it looks like to Vic and Lou. However, we know that he's actually having sleep conversations with Charlie. It's what you'd expect--the ol' razzle-dazzle about how great Christmasland is. ...

Condor S01E06 Review: No Such Thing – Best episode so far!

The week of the 4th of July, when Condor was on break, I rewatched the film version. What struck me as I was watching it was the hilarity of the Joe/Kathy H. interaction. (Forgive me, Lord, for I'm about to spoil--slightly--a movie from 1975.) Before the incident at his workplace and going on the run, movie Joe Turner and Kathy don't even know each other. Back to the Future: Still perfect, thirty-five years later

It's hard to write about Back to the Future and how absolutely perfect the movie is without just quoting a dozen lines from the first thirty minutes of the movie. To this day I have never seen a film as tightly put together like this, with not a single wasted line of dialogue, not a single moment, or character detail introduced that doesn't come back in one way or another during the movie's final two acts. I probably throw the ...

NOS4A2 S02E03 Review: The Night Road – Who is Vic McQueen?

One of the things I've had trouble squaring (and I know y'all have, too--I'm reading the comments now) is why on earth Vic would leave Wayne unprotected. After all, if she really believes that Charlie is dead, then why would she leave in the first place? And if she thinks that he's still alive, then we're back to square one with leaving Wayne. After considering it for minutes on end, the only conclusion I can come up with, besides "the ...

Condor S01E10 Review: Mistrust Blossoms – A pretty good end to the season!

In the end, there are forces greater than ideology. Like money. And love. And revenge. So here we are. They've killed Joe's friends, they killed the woman he cared for, and they've scrambled his brains to the point where he doesn't know which way's up or down. Anyway, forget all that I said about Marty being just a pawn. It turns out that after being marooned in the Middle East after her affair with Bob, Marty just stumbled onto the ...

Perry Mason S01E07 Review: Chapter Seven – Looking for a miracle

In the end, it turns out that it was a terrible mistake. And while we seem to know the motive behind what led up to it, there are still parts to unravel. But they almost seem like an afterthought. I'm not saying it's not important--those details, after all, are what can lead to Emily's acquittal. They just seem to pale a little, though, when you consider that terrible mistake, one that Virgil could hardly speak aloud. But before we get ...

The Walking Dead S10E08 Review: The World Before – The prologue finishes

Monday brought us the mid-season finale for season 10. For all the setup, this episode felt strangely like it's buying time. The first thirty minutes of the episode are mostly filler. Dante’s story is what should have been at the core of this episode. Instead, it's a cheap collection of predictable beats. Instead of wrapping up the death setup the episode before, The World Before tries to center the stories of secondary characters at the center of the narrative. I ...

50 years ago, McCartney dropped “Lennon” and went solo…

Apologies to Don McLean but the day the music died was fifty years ago, the day the Beatles broke up. For six years the Fab Four were the standard-bearers of rock music, bringing the notion of the singer/songwriter, exotic instruments, unconventional melodies, concept albums, and more, to the mainstream of music. The band invented and re-invented themselves multiple times in a relatively short period and managed to do what few uber-successful acts can: They evolved and took their fans with ...

It's 2022 February... I've rewatched the series just to see her again..to finally get closure for this episode. I liked her genuine innocence of finding love, then found Joe, stood through the mess and yet they killed her character..she is so believable. I wanted their mysterious newly found love to continue and intrigue...plus she is beautiful.

This is a terrible take. Comparing the graphical fidelity of this film to a PS2 (or even PS3) game is laughable. The CGI in this film was ahead of anything else we’d see until probably Avatar in 2009.

    Every Christopher Nolan movie ranked!
    1 year ago by KarpovGambit

I disagree about the "Prestige" as his best movie. It seemed to invent time travel ad hoc, just based on Tesla's mystery, which I thought was rather lame. I'm not a big fan of movies based on comic books, but I do appreciate the Batman movies for not being too simplistic. To me, Nolan's best movie is either "Inception" or "Memento".
