Ringing in the New Year.

The 854th edition of WWE Thursday Night SmackDown and the final SmackDown of 2015 came to you on New Year’s Eve from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. At the end of a tumultuous 2015, Roman Reigns’ 2016 is already looking to be just as difficult as his 2015 as, following the Chairman’s arrest on RAW for putting his hands on a police officer, Mr. McMahon would post bail and return to RAW to announce that, on the first RAW of 2016, Roman will put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line against former champion Sheamus and Mr. McMahon himself will serve as the Special Referee! With his championship reign in serious jeopardy heading into the New Year, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns would team with his ‘brother’ Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose to face “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus and the self-proclaimed “Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens in an explosive tag team match to ring in 2016!

Match Results

  • 6-Man Tag: Kalisto & The Dudley Boyz (with Sin Cara) def. The New Day by Kalisto pinning Kofi Kingston with the Salida del Sol.
  • Tyler Breeze (with Summer Rae) def. Goldust by roll-up with his feet on the ropes.
  • Luke Harper & Braun Strowman (with Erick Rowan) def. The Usos by Jey Uso passing out in Braun Strowman’s triangle choke hold.
  • Brie Bella & Alicia Fox def. Naomi & Tamina by Brie Bella pinning Naomi following the Bella Buster.
  • Dolph Ziggler def. Bo Dallas by pin following the super kick.
  • Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose def. Sheamus & Kevin Owens by DQ after Kevin Owens racks Roman Reigns on the ring post.
