    Wrestlemania 31 Roman Reigns

    Detailed Results

Three nights before he defends the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton in a Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules where Randy Orton’s RKO will be banned and Kane will be at ringside as the “gatekeeper” for the match, SmackDown kicks off with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, who makes his way to the ring with J&J Security by his side. Rollins says that he is glad that Randy Orton got the RKO out of his system this past Monday night on RAW because Orton will be banned from using the RKO this Sunday at Extreme Rules. The champion then says that he does not need anyone’s help to beat Randy Orton this Sunday and he especially does not need help from a “jealous, aging, former monster” like Kane. This would bring the “gatekeeper” for this Sunday’s Steel Cage Match to the ring as Kane confronts Seth Rollins, saying that he has the ability to chokeslam Rollins to hell. Kane then says that he’s not just a “corporate executive”, but at Extreme Rules, he can be Rollins’ “best friend” or he can be the cause of the “greatest loss” of Seth Rollins’ career! The champion responds by saying that they both know that, if Kane is not on Rollins’ side this Sunday, then Kane will be “fired”. Kane then says that, if Rollins was as smart as he thinks he is, then Rollins would be sucking up to him right now.

Rollins then claims that Triple H made Kane the “gatekeeper” this Sunday because he “felt sorry” for Kane, saying that Triple H even mentioned on RAW that Kane is no longer a “monster” and Kane is now a “corporate entity”. The champion then says that Kane should stick to what he’s “good at” and that is doing as he is told because that’s what is “best for business”. Kane then says that since they believe in doing the “right thing” by one another, then there is one more thing that Rollins could do for him. Kane continues, saying that since he laid down for Seth Rollins a couple of weeks ago, it’s “only fair” that the champion lay down for him! Rollins responds by laughing in Kane’s face before realizing that Kane is serious, saying that he is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and he doesn’t lay down for “anybody”. However, Kane reminds Rollins that he’s not just anybody, he is the man that holds the “key” to Rollins’ “destiny” at Extreme Rules. Kane then calls for a referee and, once the referee is in the ring, Kane assures Rollins that it will be a non-title match, telling J&J Security to get out of the ring, intimidating the security team into leaving the ring. Ignoring Seth Rollins’ protests, Kane orders the referee to ring the bell and the match officially gets underway!

The champion continues to protest, refusing to lay down for Kane and Kane reminds Rollins that Triple H is not present right now, meaning that, tonight, he is the “authority”. Rollins would continue to protest before Kane gets in the face of the champion, screaming threats at Seth Rollins, forcing Rollins to give in and lay down in the ring! Kane then kneels down next to the champion before revealing to Rollins that it was all a “joke”! As a furious and embarrassed Seth Rollins springs to his feet, Kane asks Rollins what happened to his sense of humor, saying that, as members of The Authority, they’ve got to have each other’s backs. Kane then says that Seth Rollins’ opponent tonight might not be as forgiving as he is. Rollins takes this to be another joke, but Kane assures the champion that he is serious, saying that Seth Rollins needs to get in touch with his extreme side before this Sunday, informing the champion that he will go one-on-one with Dean Ambrose right now!

Per the orders of Kane, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was scheduled to go one-on-one with his former Shield brethren, Dean Ambrose, but when “The Lunatic Fringe” makes his way down the ramp, Ambrose’s Extreme Rules opponent, Luke Harper comes out. With nowhere to go, Dean Ambrose rushes the ring, attacking Seth Rollins before J&J Security gets involved and, while Ambrose was able to toss J&J Security aside, Luke Harper would knock “The Lunatic Fringe” down, sparking a brawl on the outside before Rollins brings Ambrose back into the ring. The chaos would continue as Ambrose pummels the WWE World Heavyweight Champion before Luke Harper slides back into the ring, again attacking Ambrose. This leads to a four-on-one assault before Roman Reigns comes to his former Shield partner’s aid, tossing out J&J Security and pummeling Rollins in the corner. Luke Harper would then get Roman Reigns’ attention as Roman would beat Harper down in the corner before Reigns would go for the Superman Punch on Rollins. However, the champion would manage to avoid the Superman Punch, quickly rolling out of the ring as Luke Harper attempts a powebomb, but Roman would fight out and, with some help from Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns would catch Luke Harper with the Superman Punch, leaving Roman and Ambrose standing tall in the ring!

Before he faces Sheamus in the Kiss Me Arse Match this Sunday at Extreme Rules, Dolph Ziggler was in action on SmackDown as “The Show-Off” would team with “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville to face his Extreme Rules opponent, Sheamus, and the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship, Bad News Barrett. In the end, it was Dolph Ziggler taking Sheamus out with a super kick on the outside as Neville hits the Red Arrow on Bad News Barrett on the inside, pinning Barrett to pick up the win for his team.

Bray Wyatt would then appear on SmackDown with another creepy sermon to an unknown WWE Superstar. Bray says that he knows what “drives” this individual, saying that “fear” motivates the Superstar and he will soon “expose” this person for the “weakling” that they truly are. Wyatt continues, saying that he is going to take away the “one thing” that this person cannot “live without”, asking what a butterfly is “without its wings”.

Before she takes the injured Paige’s spot in the Divas Title match against Nikki Bella at Extreme Rules, the Diva that put Paige out of action indefinitely was in action on SmackDown as Naomi went-on-one with Natalya. In the end, it was Naomi hitting the Rear View, pinning Natalya for the win.

With his sights set on the Russian Chain Match against John Cena for the United States Championship at Extreme Rules, “The Super Athlete” Rusev, with Lana in his corner, would square off with “The Big Guy” Ryback in a collision of two powerhouses. During the match, Ryback would go for Shell Shocked on Rusev, but Rusev would fight out, rolling out of the ring. Ryback would follow Rusev to the outside, but that is when Rusev would grab the Russian chain, using the chain as a weapon to end the match by disqualification. With the match over, Rusev would send a scary message to John Cena by blasting Ryback in the skull with the steel chain before wrapping the chain around the face of Ryback in his sinister modification of the Accolade. The referee would finally get Rusev to release the hold before Rusev celebrates his actions by holding the chain high above his head in the ring.

Before Big E & Kofi Kingston challenge Cesaro & Tyson Kidd for the WWE Tag Team Titles this Sunday on the Extreme Rules Kickoff show, The New Day was on SmackDown as Kofi Kingston, with Big E & Xavier Woods in his corner, would go one-on-one with one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions Cesaro, with Tyson Kidd in his corner. During the match, a fight would break out on the outside between Tyson Kidd and Big E & Xavier Woods. This would distract Cesaro long enough for Kofi Kingston to take advantage, hitting Trouble in Paradise on Cesaro, pinning one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions to pick up the win.

Then it was time for the main event as, three nights before all four men collide in their own separate matches at Extreme Rules, Roman Reigns would team with “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, with J&J Security in his corner, and Luke Harper with Kane seated at ringside. During the match, J&J Security would get on the ring apron, but were quickly taken out with the Superman Punch by Roman Reigns. Dean Ambrose would then look to dive out of the ring onto Luke Harper, but Harper would block Ambrose, tossing “The Lunatic Fringe” over the ringside barricade. Reigns would then bring Harper back into the ring, but a brief distraction from Seth Rollins would allow Harper to hit back-to-back superkicks on Roman, but Reigns would kick out. Seth Rollins would then get tagged into the match, hitting a knee off of the top rope on Roman, but Reigns would kick out again! This would lead to Rollins tagging Harper back in with the champion hitting his turnbuckle powerbomb on Reigns before Harper follows it up with the Discus Clothesline. This time, it was Dean Ambrose breaking up the pin to keep the match going. Both sides then make a tag before Dean Ambrose dives to the outside, taking out Rollins and Harper, as well as J&J Security! Kane would then get out of his seat, picking up Seth Rollins and throwing him back into the ring! Dean Ambrose would then re-enter the ring, making the tag to Roman Reigns, who blasts Seth Rollins with the Spear, pinning the WWE World Heavyweight Champion to pick up the win for himself and Dean Ambrose! Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns then celebrate their victory as Kane looks on from ringside, showing neither contempt nor compassion for Seth Rollins.
