WWE Hell in a Cell 2012 Results

    Wwe Cm Punk 2012

    Feeding Frenzy.

Satan’s structure would cast a shadow over the WWE and its Superstars as the fourth annual WWE Hell in a Cell came to you, live on pay-per-view, from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA. After nearly a full year as WWE Champion, CM Punk’s time on top is in dire jeopardy as Punk goes one-on-one with the unstoppable, destructive, and undefeated “Sin City Cyborg” Ryback as both champion and challenger will be locked inside the demonic Hell in a Cell structure with the WWE Championship on the line. Two tough and tested Superstars would collide for the first time ever at Hell in a Cell as Sheamus defends the World Heavyweight Championship against “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show. After attacking Randy Orton last month and proclaiming himself as the “new apex predator” of the WWE, Alberto Del Rio would go one-on-one with the man himself in “The Viper” Randy Orton. The most unlikely tag team champions in the WWE would defend the gold against a team who thinks that they are disrespecting the tag team division as Team Hell No, Kane & Daniel Bryan, would defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Team Rhodes Scholars, Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow. After losing the Intercontinental Title on Main Event two weeks ago, The Miz looks determined to regain his title as he challenges new champion Kofi Kingston for the gold. With accusations abound over Eve’s involvement in the attack on Kaitlyn last month at Night of Champions, Eve would defend the Divas Title at Hell in a Cell in a Triple Threat Match against Kaitlyn and former champion Layla.

    Match Results

    • Randy Orton def. Alberto Del Rio (with Ricardo Rodriguez) by pin following the RKO.
    • WWE Tag Team Championship: Team Rhodes Scholars def. Team Hell No (c) by DQ after Kane (c) refuses to stop attacking Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow in the corner. As a result, Team Hell No (c) retains.
    • Intercontinental Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) def. The Miz by pin following Trouble in Paradise to retain.
    • United States Championship: Antonio Cesaro (c) def. Justin Gabriel by pin following the Neutralizer to retain.
    • Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara def. The Prime Time Players by Rey Mysterio pinning Darren Young following the 619 and Bullet Splash.
    • World Heavyweight Championship: Big Show def. Sheamus (c) by pin following the K.O. Punch to win the World Heavyweight Title.
    • Divas Championship: Triple Threat Match: Eve (c) def. Layla & Kaitlyn by pinning Layla following a Senton on both Layla & Kaitlyn to retain.
    • WWE Championship: Hell in a Cell Match: CM Punk (c) (with the referee and Paul Heyman) def. Ryback by pin following a low blow by the referee to retain.

    Detailed Results

Hell in a Cell kicks off with a much-anticipated one-on-one match as “The Viper” Randy Orton squared off with “The Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio, with Ricardo Rodriguez in his corner. At the end of a punishing match, Alberto Del Rio went for his signature springboard enziguiri on Randy Orton, but, even with an injured shoulder, “The Viper” catches Del Rio in mid-air with the RKO en route to securing the victory!

After her former client, Dolph Ziggler, attacked John Cena during the Hell in a Cell pre-show, the Managing Supervisor of RAW, Vickie Guerrero, appears backstage, revealing that, not only will she present evidence of the affair between John Cena and AJ Lee on RAW, but she is inviting AJ to appear on RAW to see it for herself! Vickie is then confronted by CM Punk’s associate, Paul Heyman, who again asks Vickie to call off the Hell in a Cell match, but Vickie again refuses, saying that CM Punk is “afraid” of Ryback. Heyman then screams at the Managing Supervisor that Punk is not afraid of anything, but calms himself enough to tell Vickie that everyone thinks that she is doing a “great job”, advising Vickie to not “mess it up”.

Then it was time for the WWE Tag Team Championship to be decided as the dysfunctional Team Hell No, Kane & Daniel Bryan, made their first pay-per-view title defense against the self-proclaimed “intellectually superior” Team Rhodes Scholars, Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow. During the match, Kane would ready himself to chokeslam Cody Rhodes, but Daniel Bryan tags himself in, hitting the falling headbutt on Rhodes. However, Kane pulls his tag team partner off of the pin and, shortly after this, Bryan jumps to the outside, aiming to hit Rhodes with a knee, but Bryan accidentally collides with Kane! This leads to a shoving match on the outside between Kane & Daniel Bryan and Cody Rhodes attempts to take advantage, hitting the Cross Rhodes on Daniel Bryan. Kane then saves Daniel Bryan from being pinned before Kane goes off on Team Rhodes Scholars, refusing to stop the pummeling of Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow to the point of the referee calling for the disqualification, meaning that Team Rhodes Scholars is victorious, but Team Hell No retains the titles! After the match, Kane shoves Daniel Bryan down before planting Damien Sandow with the chokeslam and yet another argument ensues between Kane and Daniel Bryan.

After his boastful proclamation that he has to regain the Intercontinental Title in order to “save the world”, The Miz would get his shot to earn the title back as the Intercontinental Championship was up for grabs with four-time and reigning Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston defended the gold against former champion The Miz. Throughout the match, The Miz would focus on the knee of Kofi Kingston, even ripping the knee and kick pad off of the leg, but it was Kofi fighting his way out of the Skull Crushing Finale moments before hitting the Trouble in Paradise on The Miz en route to successfully retaining the Intercontinental Title. After the match, Kofi Kingston is interviewed about his victory as Kofi thanks The Miz for bringing out the “wild cat” in Kofi Kingston, proclaiming that he is so proud to be the Intercontinental Champion.

The United States Title was also on the line at Hell in a Cell as Antonio Cesaro defended the United States Title against the man who defeated him on RAW, Justin Gabriel. After a couple of near-falls from Justin Gabriel, Antonio Cesaro was ultimately able to put Justin Gabriel away with the Neutralizer as Cesaro successfully retains the United States Title.

Backstage, Paul Heyman again confronts RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero, saying that CM Punk is so “happy” that he could “almost” kiss Vickie for calling off the Hell in a Cell match. Vickie demands to know who told Heyman the match was off, again declaring that the Hell in a Cell match for the WWE Title will take place tonight.

After narrowly failing to defeat Team Rhodes Scholars in the Finals of the #1 Contenders Tag Team Tournament on RAW, the team of Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara would look to bounce back as the masked duo would face The Prime Time Players, Darren Young & Titus O’Neil at Hell in a Cell. In the end, it was Rey Mysterio hitting the 619 and following it up with the Bullet Splash en route to picking up the win for himself and Sin Cara. After the match, the referee and EMT’s tend to Sin Cara, who apparently injured his neck and head during the course of the match. Sin Cara would shake the pain off, however, and would celebrate with Rey Mysterio.

Then it was time for the World Heavyweight Championship to be decided as, for the first time ever, World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus would collide with “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show with the World Heavyweight Title on the line. Big Show would dominate Sheamus throughout the match, but the champion would continue to hang on, kicking out of the chokeslam and even Big Show’s K.O. Punch! Big Show then winds up for another K.O. Punch, but Sheamus dodges the giant right hand, blasting Big Show with the Brogue Kick, but Big Show kicks out! Sheamus would then go for a second Brogue Kick, but Big Show would counter the move in mid-kick, landing the K.O. Punch on Sheamus. Big Show then finally manages to pin Sheamus, getting the pinfall and becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion! After the match, former champion Sheamus refuses medical attention as the disappointed ex-champion makes the walk to the back.

Backstage, WWE Champion CM Punk confronts WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, demanding that the Chairman call off the WWE Title match. McMahon accuses Punk of being “afraid” of and “intimidated” by Ryback, but Punk denies it and the Chairman tells Punk to go out and “prove” that he is not afraid and that he is truly the best in the world.

In the epicenter of controversy, the Divas Title was up for grabs at Hell in a Cell as Eve defends the title against Kaitlyn and former champion Layla in a Triple Threat Match. In true Triple Threat fashion, Kaitlyn would plant Layla with a powerslam, but Eve would come off of the top rope with a Senton, connecting with both Divas and pinning Layla to retain the Divas Title.

Backstage, the elated new World Heavyweight Champion, Big Show, proclaims that he has finally erased the memory of his 45-second title reign last year and he has reached the “pinnacle” of his career. Big Show then says that everyone’s “worst nightmare” has come true because “the giant is the World Heavyweight Champion”, daring anyone in the locker room to try and take the title away from him.

Then it was time for the eagerly anticipated main event as CM Punk would face the biggest threat to his nearly year-long reign as WWE Champion as CM Punk, with Paul Heyman in his corner, defends the WWE Championship against the undefeated and unstoppable “Sin City Cyborg” Ryback with champion and challenger both locked inside the demonic and unforgiving Hell in a Cell! Throughout the match, CM Punk would use a fire extinguisher, a steel chair, and a kendo stick to try and wear down Ryback, but that would all fail against the powerhouse challenger as Ryback would absorb all of the punishment that Punk could dish out. Ryback would then plow Punk with his signature Meat Hook clothesline and would hoist CM Punk up for Shell Shocked, but then in an unbelievable and shocking turn of events, the referee of the match actually halts Ryback from using the maneuver before the referee actually delivers a low blow to Ryback! CM Punk then rolls Ryback up and the crooked referee fast-counts to three, allowing CM Punk to retain the WWE Title! After the match, CM Punk and the crooked referee would try and make a quick escape from the Cell, but Ryback would get his hands on both men, tossing CM Punk into the Cell wall before targeting the referee who just screwed him out of the WWE Title, pummeling the referee before annihilating the referee with his Meat Hook clothesline and lifting the referee over his head and hurling him over the top rope and into the Cell! Meanwhile, Paul Heyman tries to drag CM Punk out of the structure, but Ryback catches the WWE Champion and, when Ryback tries to toss Punk into the side of the Cell, Punk catches himself and quickly scampers to the Cell’s roof! Ryback then ascends the Hell in a Cell structure in pursuit, cornering CM Punk before dropping Punk with Shell Shocked on top of the Cell!
