WWE Monday Night RAW March 7, 2011 Results

    By Cassidy
    | March 8, 2011
    WWE Raw

The 928th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, TX. With the return of WWE Tough Enough coming the night after WrestleMania, RAW would see the return of the Host of WWE Tough Enough as “The Texas Rattlesnake” himself, Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin would make a special appearance on RAW! After an intense and personal address by The Rock last week, John Cena has vowed to deliver the “final knockout” in the war of words between himself and The Rock! Also, after revealing that “The All-American American” Jack Swagger would be his “trainer” for his WrestleMania match against Jerry “The King” Lawler, Michael Cole would reveal who he has selected to be the Special Referee for the match in four weeks’ time!

    Match Results

    • Win To Be In CM Punk’s Corner: The New Nexus Banned: Randy Orton def. David Otunga by pin following the RKO. As a result, David Otunga will be banned from ringside at WrestleMania.
    • Christian (in his in-ring return) def. Brodus Clay by pin following a tornado DDT.
    • Divas Championship: Eve Torres (c) def. Nikki Bella (with Brie Bella) by pin following a modified swinging neckbreaker to retain.
    • Non-Title: Daniel Bryan def. King Sheamus by count-out.
    • CM Punk def. R-Truth by submission to the Anaconda Vice.
    • Dolph Ziggler (in his RAW return) def. John Morrison by pin following the Zig Zag.

    Detailed Results

One week after hearing and witnessing the intentions of Triple H for their WrestleMania match at WrestleMania where “The Game” stated that he would end the WrestleMania streak or “die trying” before delivering the Pedigree to King Sheamus through the announce table in a clear message to his WrestleMania opponent, RAW kicks off with an appearance by the one and only “Last Outlaw” The Undertaker! Undertaker states that “two icons will do battle” and, in the end, there can only be “one last outlaw”! Undertaker continues that many think that this year will be the year that the streak ends because of age and injuries, but others think that Triple H is the one who “has what it takes” to bring Undertaker “down” and end the streak! The Undertaker then reminds Triple H what has happened at the last two WrestleMania events where, at The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, he defeated 2011 Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels and, at WrestleMania XXVI, faced “The Showstopper” in a rematch and ended the career of the legendary Shawn Michaels! The Undertaker then reveals that their epic showdown at WrestleMania will have no disqualifications, no count-outs, and “no rules” because their match will be No Holds Barred! Undertaker then states that there is one thing that is “iron clad” and that is the “end result” and states that Triple H ends the streak and Undertaker “dies” or Triple will “die trying” before vowing that, in twenty-seven nights at WrestleMania, Triple H will “rest in peace”! The Undertaker has dropped the bombshell that his epic encounter with Triple H at WrestleMania will now be No Holds Barred! What will happen in four weeks’ time at WrestleMania when no rules are in place to stop Triple H and The Undertaker from giving it their all at “The Biggest Event of the Year”?

Backstage, Randy Orton is shown fighting off New Nexus member David Otunga, but Mason Ryan would intervene, prompting a vicious two-on-one assault on “The Viper” as the group would viciously attack Orton before New Nexus leader CM Punk delivers the GTS to Orton before ordering The New Nexus to drag Orton to the ring!

In the ring, CM Punk & The New Nexus are stomping away at Punk’s WrestleMania opponent, Randy Orton, in a three-on-one assault! However, several referees come out and remove CM Punk and Mason Ryan from the ring, but David Otunga stays, citing that he has a match with Randy Orton scheduled to take place! Then, against the advisement of the referee, Randy Orton tells the referee to start the match and the referee complies as a weakened Randy Orton would go one-on-one with David Otunga and, if Otunga wins, then he will be allowed in the corner of CM Punk at WrestleMania, but if Orton wins, then Otunga is banned from ringside with CM Punk & Mason Ryan banned from ringside for, if they interfere, the anonymous General Manager will see that The New Nexus is disbanded! In the end, it was Randy Orton coming out of nowhere with the RKO to David Otunga en route to picking up the win, meaning that David Otunga is banned from ringside at WrestleMania!

As soon as the match was over, New Nexus member Mason Ryan would attack a weakened Randy Orton with a big boot, but as Ryan was set to dish out more punishment to Orton, Orton would come out of nowhere with the RKO to Mason Ryan as well! Randy Orton would then fight off CM Punk from the ring before Orton would spot a downed David Otunga in the ring and, as Punk rushed to get to Otunga in time, Orton would beat Punk to the chase as Orton would deliver a vile and skull-rattling punt to the skull of David Otunga, putting Otunga out of action just like Orton did to Husky Harris & Michael McGillicutty! When Randy Orton goes one-on-one with CM Punk at WrestleMania, Orton has ensured that only Mason Ryan will be in his corner, but will Orton be able to punt the monstrous Mason Ryan like he has done to the other New Nexus members? How will CM Punk respond to Randy Orton taking out yet another member of The New Nexus?

Three nights after coming to the aid of his good friend, World Heavyweight Champion Edge, to prevent Alberto Del Rio from doing severe damage to the arm of Edge, RAW would see the in-ring return of the one and only “Captain Charisma” Christian as Christian would go one-on-one with the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania, Alberto Del Rio, but Del Rio would not come alone as the runner up for NXT Season Four, the monstrous Brodus Clay, would accompany Del Rio! Before the match, Alberto Del Rio would tell Christian that they are going to “fight”, but “not tonight” as, if Christian wants to face Del Rio, then Christian will have to face the gigantic Brodus Clay!

In his return to action, “Captain Charisma” Christian would go one-on-one with the former NXT Rookie of Alberto Del Rio in the monstrous Brodus Clay! Despite a major size and power disadvantage, Christian would be able to hit a tornado DDT on the gigantic Brodus Clay to pick up a hard-fought win! After the match, Alberto Del Rio would attack Christian and would ultimately lock in the cross armbreaker on the surgically repaired arm of Christian in a clear cut message for the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge! How will Christian respond to this attack by Alberto Del Rio?

The fourth inductee into the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame was revealed on RAW as the sultry, sexy, blonde bombshell Sunny will join “Bullet” Bob Armstrong, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan”, and Shawn Michaels as inductees into the 2011 Hall of Fame!

After winning a Divas Battle Royal, with some crucial help from her twin sister, Brie, to become the #1 Contender for the Divas Title last week, Nikki Bella, with Brie Bella in her corner, would get her shot at the gold as Nikki would challenge Eve Torres, with Gail Kim in her corner, for the Divas Title! In the middle of the match, RAW commentator Michael Cole would stand on top of the announce table and tell the Divas in the ring to go ahead and end the match because “no one” wants to see the match because they all want to hear his announcement! In the end, it was a failed attempt at Twin Magic by The Bella Twins that would allow Eve Torres to deliver her modified swinging neckbreaker to Nikki Bella en route to picking up the win and retaining the Divas Title!

It was revealed on RAW that next week’s RAW will see a best selling author and reality television star appear on RAW as Jersey Shore star “Snooki” will appear as the Guest Star of RAW! What will happen when “Snooki” comes to RAW next week?

One week after revealing that Jack Swagger will be in his corner as his “trainer” for his match against Jerry “The King” Lawler at WrestleMania, a cocky Michael Cole would reveal that, whoever signs the contract he has in his possession will be the Special Referee for his WrestleMania match against Lawler! Cole then claims that the referee he has selected is “impartial” and the individual has “vowed” to call the match “right down the middle” at WrestleMania and saying that Lawler will have a “fighting chance” against him at WrestleMania! Michael Cole then makes the announcement that the Special Referee is a former WWE Champion and “one of the most iconic figures in WWE history” and, much like him, the man is a “legendary Texan” before leading the crowd in a chant for Stone Cold Steve Austin, but Cole calls the fans “suckers” for believing him! Cole would then make the blockbuster announcement that the Special Referee for the match between Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler at WrestleMania will be none other than John “Bradshaw” Layfield! JBL then rides out in his signature limousine as the multi-millionaire makes his way to the ring and embraces Michael Cole! JBL would state that, when he returned to the “irrelevant” state of Texas, he would be “welcomed” with “open hearts” before thanking the fans! JBL then states that he is going to WrestleMania to be in the “main event” and he is “so proud” of the “veteran” who stands before him! JBL then calls Jerry Lawler a “bully” and states that he “hates bullies” and says that Cole is a “world class athlete”! JBL then states that there is only “one thing missing” and that is an “impartial” referee and “nothing can buy JBL” because he is a “man of integrity”! JBL then states that he is starting his “journey back to the main event of WrestleMania” before the transplanted New Yorker is interrupted by the arrival of a revered Texan hero in none other than the incomparable Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin!

After the shocking return of John “Bradshaw” Layfield to sign a contract that would make him the Special Referee for the WrestleMania match between Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler, JBL is interrupted by the arrival of a true Texan hero in the incomparable Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin! The legendary Austin would make his way to the ring and would try to get to Michael Cole, but when JBL would repeatedly stand in Austin’s way, “The Texas Rattlesnake” would drop JBL with the Stunner! As Michael Cole rushes back to the announce table screaming that it was his “night”, Stone Cold Steve Austin would crack open a couple of beers and would have an infamous Stone Cold celebration and would dump some beer on JBL before noticing the unsigned contract laying in the ring and, after asking the fans to give him a “hell yeah” if they want him to sign the contract and the fans comply, prompting Stone Cold to sign the contract, meaning that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be the Special Referee when Michael Cole faces Jerry Lawler at WrestleMania! Stone Cold Steve Austin would then confront a frantically emotional Michael Cole at ringside and would dump beer all over the head of the commentator, leading to a defeated Michael Cole walking away with tears and beer in his eyes! During this time, JBL would get to his feet and Austin would hand a confused JBL a beer before Austin would drink the beer and deliver a second Stunner to JBL while Michael Cole threw a fit on the staging area! In a major shocker, Stone Cold Steve Austin will be the Special Referee when Michael Cole, with “trainer” Jack Swagger in his corner, faces Jerry “The King” Lawler at WrestleMania! What will happen at WrestleMania when the unpredictable Stone Cold Steve Austin is in charge as the Special Referee?

With Jerry “The King” Lawler joining Josh Mathews at ringside following Michael Cole’s beer bath at the hands of Stone Cold Steve Austin, United States Champion Daniel Bryan would go one-on-one with the 2010 King of the Ring King Sheamus, just one week after King Sheamus was assaulted by Triple H before being the victim of the Pedigree through the announce table before being forced to face a returning Evan Bourne in a losing effort! During the match, Daniel Bryan would send King Sheamus to the outside and Sheamus would appear to injure his ankle, which would prevent Sheamus from re-entering the ring, giving Bryan the count-out win! After the match, King Sheamus would challenge Daniel Bryan to a match for the United States Title next week and states that, if he loses, then he will “quit” the WWE! Will King Sheamus turn his career around next week by winning the United States Title or will King Sheamus’ career come to an end?

After witnessing Randy Orton deliver a vicious punt to David Otunga earlier in the night, the leader of The New Nexus, CM Punk, with Mason Ryan in his corner, would go one-on-one with R-Truth! In the end, it was a fired up and disturbed CM Punk locking in the Anaconda Vice on R-Truth, forcing Truth to tap out to pick up the win! After the match, CM Punk would instruct his only able follower, Mason Ryan, to deliver a vicious shoulder breaker to R-Truth! What is the plan of CM Punk as his match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania draws near?

After being fired by SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long a couple of weeks ago on SmackDown, the former Official Consultant of SmackDown Vickie Guerrero would make an appearance on RAW! Vickie states that, due to her “extensive negotiating”, she is proud to introduce the newest member of the RAW roster in her boyfriend and former World Heavyweight Champion, Dolph Ziggler!

The newest addition to the RAW roster would be in action on RAW as former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler would go one-on-one with “The Prince of Parkour” John Morrison! In the end, it was Dolph Ziggler hitting the Zig Zag on John Morrison en route to picking up the win! After the match, the anonymous General Manager of RAW would chime in with an email that reveals that it is true that the GM hired Dolph Ziggler, but did not hire Vickie Guerrero because he considers Vickie a “polarizing individual”! The GM then announces that Vickie Guerrero can have a job on RAW, but only if she wins her match next week against Tough Enough Trainer and seven time Women’s Champion Trish Stratus! The GM would then summon security to escort Vickie from the arena! Can Vickie Guerrero find a way to defeat “The Diva of the Decade” Trish Stratus next week to get a job on RAW?

One week after hearing the intense and poignant comments made by The Rock, the #1 Contender for the WWE Title at WrestleMania, John Cena, would respond with what Cena called the “final knockout”! Cena states that he “likes” the insults by The Rock and Rock’s “impression” of Cena! Cena states that he is going to address The Rock with “hip hop” instead of “rap”! Cena then says that The Rock chose to “stay home” last week and read off of a “teleprompter” and the only time Rock can “see” him is when he is “whipping that Rock Bottom”! Cena continues that, once again, he is standing there and calls Rock a “yabba dabba disgrace” and tells The Rock that, if Rock wants to be “The People’s Champion”, then he just needs to “show up”! Cena continues that he went out and bought The Rock’s new t-shirt and shows the shirt which reads “I bring it via satellite” before warning The Rock to not call him out again because that’s like “bringing a knife to a gun fight”! After his poignant words for The Rock, Cena would be blindsided by The Miz, who blasts Cena in the face with his WWE Title belt not once, but twice! Miz then gets in the face of a downed Cena and tells Cena that Cena, Austin, Rock, and others are all “nothing” compared to him! The Miz then addresses The Rock and tells the WrestleMania Host that he is the “star” of WrestleMania and tells The Rock that, if Rock shows up to RAW or WrestleMania, then he will take Rock’s eyebrow, his catchphrases, and his father and grandfather and shove them up Rock’s “candy ass”! The Miz would then hit the Skull Crushing Finale on John Cena before mocking The Rock by doing his own version of The People’s Elbow on Cena! For the second week in a row, The Miz has left John Cena laid out, but how will John Cena respond to the attack and how will The Rock respond to the words of both The Miz and John Cena?
