WWE: Former WWE Champion Suffers Knee Injury Over Weekend

According to the Wrestling-Online Newsletter, former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio suffered an apparent knee injury on Friday night in Salt Lake City, UT. This injury prevented Mysterio from competing the next night in Fresno, CA and may explain why the scheduled match between Mysterio and The Miz did not take place on RAW and was replaced with Miz attacking before Kofi Kingston replaced Mysterio in the match. The severity of Mysterio’s injury is currently unknown. It is worth noting that Rey Mysterio is scheduled to challenge whoever is the Undisputed WWE Champion on RAW the night after SummerSlam.
