WWE RAW November 22, 2010 Detailed Results

    By Cassidy
    | November 22, 2010
    WWE Raw

One night after a shocking and unforgettable WWE Survivor Series, the 913th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. After Survivor Series saw John Cena stick to his word and call the WWE Title match “down the middle” to award the WWE Title to still champion Randy Orton, resulting in John Cena being fired from the WWE, the realization of Cena’s departure as well as the fallout from Survivor Series would be felt on RAW!

    Match Results

    • King of the Ring Qualifying Match: Ezekiel Jackson def. Alex Riley by pin following the Book of Ezekiel to qualify.
    • King of the Ring Qualifying Match: Non-Title: Daniel Bryan def. Ted DiBiase by submission to the LeBell Lock to qualify.
    • Non-Title: Natalya def. Alicia Fox by submission to the Sharpshooter.
    • King of the Ring Qualifying Match: John Morrison def. Tyson Kidd by pin following Starship Pain to qualify.
    • WWE Championship: Pinfall or Submission Only: The Nexus Banned: Randy Orton (c) (with John Cena) def. Wade Barrett by pin following the RKO to retain.
    • WWE Championship: The Miz def. Randy Orton (c) by pin following the Skull Crushing Finale to win the WWE Title.

    Detailed Results

One night after failing to win the WWE Title, the show kicks off with Nexus leader Wade Barrett, with The Nexus in tow, as Barrett, through the boos and “Cena” chants ringing through the Amway Center, states that John Cena was “willing to sacrifice his entire career to do, what he felt, was the right thing” and that he went into the WWE Title match “without a fighting chance” since Cena knew what he was going to do before the match! Barrett then accuses Cena of being “biased from the very beginning” and that it was “unfair”! Barrett continues that, in the history of the WWE, a referee has “never once” been allowed to place his hands on a competitor, but that is what John Cena did as Cena “purposely” pushed him into to an RKO by Randy Orton before stating that it was “unjust”, “unfair”, and “unprofessional”! Barrett then states that he wants another shot at the WWE Title, but this time with a “neutral referee” so he can “prove” that he can beat Randy Orton and become the WWE Champion! This prompts the anonymous General Manager of RAW to chime in with an email that announces that Randy Orton will defend the WWE Title again and it will happen on RAW! Wade Barrett responds to this announcement by revealing that he will “allow” John Cena to appear on RAW so that he could say his “final words” to the WWE fans before saying that he looks forward to hearing Cena’s “final words” almost as much as he looks forward to becoming the new WWE Champion! With John Cena seemingly out of the picture, can Wade Barrett defeat Randy Orton and win the WWE Title? What will happen when John Cena appears on RAW?

It was revealed on RAW that next week’s RAW will be a special three-hour King of the Ring edition of RAW where Superstars from both RAW & SmackDown will converge to compete in the 2010 King of the Ring tournament with the winner being named the 2010 King of the Ring!

Before the first match of the night, RAW Play-by-Play Announcer Michael Cole introduces the newest addition to the RAW Announce Team as Cole brings out “The Straightedge Savior” CM Punk to serve as a RAW commentator for the “foreseeable future”!

The opening match would be a King of the Ring Qualifying Match as “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus would go one-on-one with R-Truth with the winner getting a spot in next week’s 2010 King of the Ring tournament! In the end, it was Sheamus hitting the High Cross on R-Truth en route to picking up the win to qualify for the 2010 King of the Ring tournament next week! Who else will join Sheamus in the 2010 King of the Ring tournament?

Then it was time for another King of the Ring Qualifying Match as “Big Zeke” Ezekiel Jackson would go one-on-one with “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” The Miz, but before the match, Miz’s “apprentice” Alex Riley would announce that The Miz had an “anxiety attack” and, therefore, he will replace Miz in the match! In the end, it was Ezekiel Jackson dominating Alex Riley en route to hitting the Book of Ezekiel to pick up the win and qualify for next week’s King of the Ring tournament! Can anyone stop the seemingly unstoppable Ezekiel Jackson in next week’s King of the Ring tournament?

One night after being fired from the WWE as a result of the WWE Title match, John Cena would make his farewell appearance on RAW to deliver his “final words” to the WWE fans! Cena states that he did not “think” that he would actually get fired, but he also did not “think” his WWE career would happen either! Cena then states that they have “no idea” how much he “respects” the WWE and everybody who have helped build the WWE to what it is today! Cena then states that he is not going to let The Nexus “ruin” his nine-year career! Cena continues that, when he started in the WWE, the company was a “big part” of his life and then the WWE “became” his life! An emotional Cena continues that his family has been so “patient” with him and let him be him before saying that he missed the birth of his brother Matt’s kid and that his mom’s birthday is in two days and he is going to fly back to West Newbury and his mom is going to get the “best birthday present she has gotten in ten years” by having her son be there for her birthday! Cena then says that the WWE fans are always “honest” before telling the women and children in the audience to chant “Let’s Go Cena” while the men over 18 chant “Cena Sucks”! Cena then states that, regardless of the chant, whenever he heard it, he “earned” it! Cena then states that, before he leaves, he wants to address Wade Barrett before telling Barrett to stop “taking the easy way out” as the WWE fans will give their all to him if Barrett does the same for them, warning Barrett of his “karma” if he continues to take “shortcuts”! John Cena then thanks the WWE fans for all that they do and have done before saying that everything that the WWE is today is because of the fans! Cena then exits the ring and stands on the stage as Cena gives one last salute to the WWE fans! Backstage, John Cena continues his walk out of the arena as various WWE Superstars & Divas applaud Cena! Cena would then shake the hand of and embrace WWE Champion Randy Orton before walking out of the arena as Nexus leader Wade Barrett delivers the signature “You Can’t See Me” taunt of John Cena behind Cena’s back!

Then it as time for another King of the Ring Qualifying Match as United States Champion Daniel Bryan, with new “friend” Brie Bella in his corner, would go one-on-one with “The Fortunate Son” Ted DiBiase, with Maryse in his corner, in a non-title Survivor Series rematch! In the end, the result of the match was the same as the Survivor Series match as Daniel Bryan would force Ted DiBiase to tap out to the LeBell Lock to qualify for next week’s King of the Ring tournament! After the match, Nikki Bella also comes out to check on Daniel Bryan! Are The Bella Twins interested in Daniel Bryan? Can the twins “share” Daniel Bryan or will this drive a wedge in betweens The Bellas?

One night after overcoming both Layla & Michelle McCool in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match to win the Divas Title, the new Divas Champion Natalya was in action on RAW as the new champion would go one-on-one with a former Divas Champion in Alicia Fox in a non-title bout! In the end, it was Natalya locking in the Sharpshooter, forcing Alicia Fox to tap out to pick up the win!

One night after picking up a big win over Sheamus at Survivor Series, “The Guru of Greatness” John Morrison would go one-on-one with former Hart Dynasty member Tyson Kidd in a King of the Ring Qualifying Match! In the end, it was John Morrison hitting Starship Pain on Tyson Kidd en route to picking up the win and being the final RAW Superstar to qualify for next week’s King of the Ring tournament! Which SmackDown Superstars will join Sheamus, Ezekiel Jackson, Daniel Bryan, & John Morrison in next week’s King of the Ring tournament?

Then it was seemingly time for the main event as Randy Orton would defend the WWE Title against Nexus leader Wade Barrett, but when the WWE Champion was making his way to the ring, Wade Barrett and The Nexus would strike, attacking Orton and leaving the WWE Champion with an apparent knee injury! What is the status of WWE Champion Randy Orton following this attack?

After leading an attack by The Nexus on WWE Champion Randy Orton, Nexus leader Wade Barrett would come out for his WWE Title match and, after a short wait, the WWE Champion would gingerly make his way to the ring to try and defend his WWE Title in a match that can only end in pinfall or submission and The Nexus is banned from interfering! In the end, it looked like Wade Barrett would be crowned the new WWE Champion after hitting the Wasteland, but before the referee could count to three, John Cena would rush out and pull the referee out of the ring and would follow this up by delivering the Attitude Adjustment to Wade Barrett before The Nexus would chase Cena out of the arena! With the referee recovered and Wade Barrett slowly getting to his feet, Randy Orton would strike with the RKO en route to pinning Barrett to retain the WWE Title against all odds! It looked as though Randy Orton had narrowly avoided disaster by losing the WWE Title, but The Miz would rush and hand his Money-in-the-Bank briefcase over to the referee as it was announced that The Miz was cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank title opportunity to get his guaranteed shot at the WWE Title! In the end, it was The Miz taking advantage of the weakened and injured state of Randy Orton to hit the Skull Crushing Finale en route to shocking the world by winning the WWE Title! How will Randy Orton respond to The Miz taking full advantage of his condition to win the WWE Title?
