Prelude to Destruction.

Five nights before WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs, the 902nd edition of WWE SmackDown LIVE came to you, live, from the Colonial Life Arena at the University of South Carolina in Columbus, SC. Before he challenges AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship in a Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match at WWE TLC this Sunday, Dean Ambrose would make an appearance on SmackDown LIVE as “The Lunatic Fringe” would bring back his talk show segment, The Ambrose Asylum, and the #1 Contender’s guest would be the newest addition to the SmackDown LIVE roster James Ellsworth who, with a big assist from Dean Ambrose, was able to upset WWE World Champion AJ Styles in a Ladder Match last week to earn his contract and a future shot at the WWE World Championship. What will James Ellsworth have to say about beating AJ Styles for the third time last week as well as being an official member of the SmackDown LIVE roster? Also on SmackDown LIVE, the final match of Tag Team Turmoil would take place as American Alpha would face the formidable and ungodly tag team of Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton with the winning team becoming the new #1 Contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles with a match against Heath Slater & Rhyno with the gold on the line at WWE TLC!

Match Results

  • Dolph Ziggler & Kalisto def. The Miz (with Maryse) & Baron Corbin by DQ after Baron Corbin hits Kalisto with a steel chair.
  • Kane def. Luke Harper by pin following the chokeslam.
  • #1 Contenders’ Match: Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton def. American Alpha by Bray Wyatt pinning Jason Jordan following Sister Abigail to become the new #1 Contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
