Brogue Kicked Brit.

The sixth edition of WWE Main Event came to you from the LG Arena at the NEC Birmingham in Birmingham, England. After recent victories over Randy Orton, Wade Barrett would step into familiar territory as England’s native son collides with the former World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus, as “The Bareknuckle Brawler” and “The Celtic Warrior” go one-on-one on Main Event in what promises to be a hard-hitting battle for supremacy.

Match Results

  • Sheamus def. Wade Barrett by pin following the Brogue Kick.
  • R-Truth def. Heath Slater (with Jinder Mahal) by DQ after Jinder Mahal interferes.

Detailed Results

The show kicks off with the World Heavyweight Champion, Big Show, who was a guest on commentary as former champion, “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus, went one-on-one with England’s own “Bareknuckle Brawler” Wade Barrett. However, when Sheamus comes out, he runs right past the ring to attack Big Show! Referees are then able to separate both men and the match between Sheamus and Wade Barrett goes forward as planned. During the match, Sheamus plants Wade Barrett with White Noise, causing Big Show to walk away from the ring, refusing to watch the end of the match. Meanwhile, in the ring, Sheamus blasts Wade Barrett with the Brogue Kick en route to picking up the win. After the match, Sheamus dares Big Show to enter the ring, but Big Show just laughs at “The Celtic Warrior” before making his exit.

Backstage, Matt Striker questions World Heavyweight Champion Big Show about his title defense against Sheamus at Survivor Series, but “The World’s Largest Athlete” refuses to answer any questions. Striker continues to ask Big Show about Sheamus, so an irritated Big Show levels the interviewer with the K.O. Punch!

The main event of WWE Main Event would feature two-thirds of 3MB as Heath Slater, with Jinder Mahal in his corner, went one-on-one with R-Truth. During the match, R-Truth would hit Truth or Consequences on Heath Slater, but Jinder Mahal would rush the ring, attacking R-Truth, ending the match via disqualification. After the match, Jinder Mahal hits a running knee on R-Truth, followed by Heath Slater planting Truth with the Smash Hit.

The big main event of next week’s WWE Main Event was then revealed as, in a rematch from Hell in a Cell, Team Hell No, Kane & Daniel Bryan, will defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Team Rhodes Scholars, Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow! Can Team Hell No put their anger and arguments aside for the sake of the WWE Tag Team Titles or will Team Rhodes Scholars ascend to the top of the tag team division as the new champions?
