600th Episode of WWE SmackDown February 18, 2011 Results

    By Cassidy
    | February 18, 2011
    WWE SmackDown

Two nights before WWE Elimination Chamber, the historic 600th episode of WWE SmackDown came to you from the Valley View Casino Center in Rey Mysterio’s hometown of San Diego, CA. After last week’s controversial title match that saw Edge use the forbidden Spear, as well as having Green Pay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews counting the fall in the match, acting SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero announced on RAW that the milestone 600th episode of SmackDown would see the World Heavyweight Championship officially change hands as Vickie’s boyfriend, Dolph Ziggler, would officially be crowned the new World Heavyweight Champion! Two nights before they are all involved in two separate Elimination Chamber Matches with a main event WrestleMania match on the line, the 600th episode of SmackDown would see a gigantic 12-Man Tag Match as World Heavyweight Champion Edge would team with the 2010 Superstar of the Year John Cena, “The Viper” Randy Orton, R-Truth, “The Prince of Parkour” John Morrison, & San Diego’s own Rey Mysterio to face the team of the leader of The New Nexus CM Punk, “The Platinum Superstar” Dolph Ziggler, “The Chosen One” Drew McIntyre, the 2010 King of the Ring King Sheamus, “The Big Monster” Kane, and Corre member Wade Barrett!

    Match Results

    • 12-Man Tag: Edge, John Cena, Randy Orton, R-Truth, John Morrison, & Rey Mysterio def. CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, King Sheamus, Kane, & Wade Barrett by Edge pinning Dolph Ziggler following the Spear.
    • Layla & Maryse (with Michelle McCool) def. Eve Torres & Beth Phoenix by Layla pinning Eve Torres following a double team kick by Layla & Maryse.
    • Champion Vs. Champion: The Miz (with Alberto Del Rio) def. Kofi Kingston by pin following the Skull Crushing Finale.
    • WWE Tag Team Championship: Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov (c) def. Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel (with Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson) by DQ after Wade Barrett interferes; Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov (c) retain.
    • World Heavyweight Championship: Edge def. Dolph Ziggler (c) by pin following the Spear to win the World Heavyweight Title.

    Detailed Results

The historic 600th episode of SmackDown kicks off with the gigantic 12-Man Tag Match featuring the 12 combined participants of the two Elimination Chamber Matches this Sunday at WWE Elimination Chamber as World Heavyweight Champion Edge would team with the 2010 Superstar of the Year John Cena, “The Viper” Randy Orton, R-Truth, “The Prince of Parkour” John Morrison, & San Diego’s own Rey Mysterio to take on the team of New Nexus leader CM Punk, “The Platinum Superstar” Dolph Ziggler, “The Chosen One” Drew McIntyre, the 2010 King of the Ring King Sheamus, “The Big Red Monster” Kane, & Corre member Wade Barrett! In the end, it was the complete breakdown of the tag match as Edge would go for the Spear on Dolph Ziggler, but King Sheamus would intervene and blast Edge with the Brogue Kick before John Morrison would hit the Flash Kick on King Sheamus followed by Kane planting Morrison with the chokeslam, but John Cena would come in and deliver the Attitude Adjustment to Kane before CM Punk would hit the GTS on Cena and Randy Orton would then plant Punk with the RKO, but would be spiked with the Future Shock DDT by Drew McIntyre, who would be taken out by a modified STO by R-Truth and Wade Barrett would hit a side slam on R-Truth before Rey Mysterio would set Barrett up for the 619 and Dolph Ziggler would also get caught on the ropes as Rey would deliver a double 619, which would allow Edge to finally hit the Spear on Dolph Ziggler en route to picking up the win for his team! Immediately following the match, the screeching voice of Vickie Guerrero is heard as the acting General Manager of SmackDown comes out and orders Edge to hand over the World Heavyweight Title to her because Edge is no longer the champion due to Edge using the forbidden Spear and having Packers linebacker Clay Matthews count the pinfall for the match last week! Vickie states that Clay Matthews was not even a “licensed official” before repeating that Edge is “no longer” the World Heavyweight Champion, but her boyfriend, Dolph Ziggler is and they will have the official coronation for Dolph later in the night! Vickie then states that Edge is “very welcome” to watch from his hotel room because she knows that Edge has a “hidden hatred” and it builds up into a “rage” and that “rage” led him to assault Theodore Long! Vickie continues that her and Long have “great respect” for each other before proclaiming that with “great reluctance”, Edge is fired! Has Edge not only been stripped of the World Heavyweight Title, but fired from the WWE as well?

In an interview from earlier this week, “Dashing” Cody Rhodes is interviewed about his broken nose and successful reconstructive surgery and Rhodes, wearing a protective mask, reveals that he has been “cleared for travel” and, on next week’s SmackDown, he will have an important announcement to make! What does “Dashing” Cody Rhodes have in store next week?

The Divas were also in action on SmackDown as Divas Champion Eve Torres would team with “The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix to face the team of Layla & Maryse, with Michelle McCool a guest on commentary! During the match, Michelle McCool would get on the ring apron, but Beth Phoenix would hammer the injured leg of McCool! This would distract Eve Torres long enough for Layla & Maryse to land a double kick to Eve, allowing Layla to pin the Divas Champion to pick up the win!

Two nights before he would defend the WWE Championship against Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler at WWE Elimination Chamber, WWE Champion The Miz, with “apprentice” Alex Riley in his corner, would go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston, just two night before Kofi goes one-on-one with Alberto Del Rio at WWE Elimination Chamber! During the match, Kofi Kingston would look poised for victory over The Miz as Kofi looked ready to deliver Trouble in Paradise, but Kofi’s opponent at WWE Elimination Chamber, Alberto Del Rio, would distract Kofi long enough for The Miz to roll Kofi up, but Kofi would still kick out! Shortly after this, Alberto Del Rio would distract Kofi Kingston a second time and, this time, The Miz would hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Kofi en route to picking up the win! What will happen this Sunday night at WWE Elimination Chamber when Kofi Kingston gets his hands on Alberto Del Rio?

After defeating the WWE Tag Team Champions a couple of weeks ago, Corre members Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel, with fellow Corre members Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson in their corner, would get their shot at the gold as Slater & Gabriel would challenge Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov for the WWE Tag Team Titles! In the end, Santino Marella would look poised for victory after hitting the Cobra Strike on Justin Gabriel, but Wade Barrett would break up the pinfall, causing a disqualification! The Corre would then prepare to assault the WWE Tag Team Champions, but Big Show would rush down and would clear the ring of Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, & Justin Gabriel, leaving Big Show and Ezekiel Jackson to go head-to-head, but Ezekiel’s Corre teammates would talk Ezekiel out of clashing with “The World’s Largest Athlete”! Will there be a time where we will see Big Show and Ezekiel Jackson square off one-on-one?

Then it was time for the official coronation of Dolph Ziggler as the new World Heavyweight Champion as acting SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero would present her boyfriend, Dolph Ziggler, with the World Heavyweight Title! Vickie would waste no time in announcing that it is her “privilege” to introduce the new World Heavyweight Champion, Dolph Ziggler before presenting the title belt to her boyfriend! Dolph would then celebrate with the World Heavyweight Title, but the celebration would be interrupted by the shocking return of the General Manager of SmackDown Theodore Long! Long tells Vickie & Dolph that they look like they are seeing a “ghost” before Long asks Vickie if her “investigation” of the attack on him led her to look into a “mirror”! Long continues that Vickie had the “most to gain” from him being attacked before telling Vickie that she does not have to worry about anyone’s “job” anymore, but Long is interrupted by Vickie, who blames the entire thing on Dolph! Long responds by saying that they can forget about any “coronations” and they can “clear the ring” before proclaiming that he is “back in charge” and that there is going to be a World Heavyweight Title match right now! Long then announces Dolph’s challenger by saying that he has the power to “rehire” people, so he is rehiring “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge to challenge Dolph for the World Heavyweight Title!

After the shocking return of SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long, who brought an end to the Championship Coronation of Dolph Ziggler, Long would rehire Edge and make an impromptu title match as new World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler would defend the World Heavyweight Title against “The Rated-R Superstar” Edge! In the end, it was Edge hitting the Spear on Dolph Ziggler to pick up the quick victory over Dolph to regain the World Heavyweight Title! After the match, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long would re-emerge to make another blockbuster announcement that Dolph Ziggler is fired! As confetti rains down, new World Heavyweight Champion Edge leads the crowd in attendance in a singing of “Na, Na, Na, Na, Hey, Hey, Goodbye” as Dolph takes the walk of shame from the ring as Edge continues his celebration! With Dolph Ziggler being fired by the returning Theodore Long, what does this mean for the Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Title this Sunday that Dolph Ziggler was scheduled to take part in?
