After RAW was victorious over SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series, RAW kicks off with RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. The proud Commissioner says that her brother Shane learned to “strike first” in a fight while she learned to “win” in a fight before saying that, because of RAW’s victory, Kurt Angle’s job is “1,000% secure”. Stephanie then introduces the “man who led Team RAW to victory” but, instead of introducing the captain of Team RAW Kurt Angle, Stephanie introduces her husband, Triple H, who scored the win for Team RAW by eliminating Shane McMahon but only after dropping Kurt Angle with the Pedigree and draping Shane over Kurt to eliminate the GM before “The Game” was left laying by Braun Strowman after the match. Triple H would make his way to the ring before RAW General Manager Kurt Angle comes out to confront Triple H, making a beeline for the ring and getting right in the face of “The Game”. Kurt first tells Triple H that this isn’t the General Manager talking, this is the Olympic gold medalist and WWE Hall of Famer talking, telling Triple H that, if Triple H ever attacks him from behind again like he did at Survivor Series, they can take this job and “shove it” because he’s coming for Triple H!

Stephanie reminds Kurt that he is the RAW General Manager and he is currently talking to the WWE COO and she appreciates all of Kurt’s “intensity” but the GM should not “jeopardize” his career again. Kurt Angle’s son Jason Jordan then makes his way to the ring to confront Triple H, who laid Jason out with the Pedigree last week on RAW. Kurt holds his son back, saying that he is the General Manager and Jason Jordan is a competitor and Jordan responds by insisting that he get a match with Triple H tonight! Stephanie says that Kurt doesn’t have the “authority” to make that match before Jason Jordan takes the microphone from his dad, asking if Triple H is a “coward”.

Triple H takes his jacket off before Stephanie says that Triple H would make a “mockery” of Jason Jordan before saying that Triple H isn’t afraid of Jason Jordan and Triple H isn’t afraid of “anyone” in the locker room. This brings out “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman who, much like Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan before him, marches right down to the ring, getting right in the face of Triple H. However, “The Game” would back away from the hulking Strowman, exiting the ring as “The Monster Among Men” refuses to take his gaze off of the WWE COO. Stephanie then announces that, since Jason Jordan wants a fight, Jason Jordan is going to go one-on-one with Braun Strowman here tonight! Braun then turns around to glare at Jason Jordan with Kurt keeping the two Superstars separated.

After having some difficulty co-existing as a team at Survivor Series, the opening match of the night would Finn Balor go one-on-one with a familiar rival in Samoa Joe. In the end, Finn Balor would head to the top rope with his sights set on the Coup de Grace, but Samoa Joe would grab Finn off of the top rope, locking in the Coquina Clutch and, while Finn would not tap out, Finn would pass out as Joe scores the submission victory.

Following her victory at Survivor Series where she was the sole survivor on the RAW Women’s Team, “The Empress of Tomorrow” Asuka would go one-on-one with Dana Brooke on RAW. In the end, it was Asuka dropping Dana Brooke with a kick to the head, pinning Dana for the win.

Following his loss to United States Champion Baron Corbin at Survivor Series, Intercontinental Champion The Miz, along with The Miztourage, would host Miz TV. After saying that, because of him, Baron Corbin is now more “relevant” than he’s ever been before saying that he has “more important things” to attend to before introducing his guest, Roman Reigns. However, Roman Reigns does not come alone as all three members of The Shield make their way to the ring fresh off of their victory over The New Day at Survivor Series. Dean Ambrose says that they proved to The New Day and the world that they haven’t “missed a step” before Seth Rollins says that the three of them are pretty much “unstoppable”. The Miz says that they owe him a “thank you”, saying the whole reason that the Shield reunion happened is because of him. The Intercontinental Champion then calls The Shield “ungrateful” before Roman Reigns says that The Miz should be the one who’s ungrateful after his loss to Baron Corbin. However, The Miz says that he’s a champion unlike any of them.

Rollins says that it’s only a matter of time before he and Ambrose are once again the RAW Tag Team Champions before Roman Reigns says that he doesn’t want to be the only one in The Shield without a title. Seth then points out that The Miz has a title and Roman comments that he likes that title, challenging The Miz to face him with the Intercontinental Title on the line. Bo Dallas then steps forward saying that, if The Shield wants a piece of The Miz, they have to go through The Miztourage. The Shield then sets out to do just that as, with The Miz quickly heading for the hills, Roman Reigns drops Bo Dallas with an uppercut. This leaves the neck brace-wearing Curtis Axel all alone with The Shield as Rollins delivers the knee to Curtis Axel before Ambrose spikes Axel with Dirty Deeds. As The Miz watches in distress, The Shield turn their focus back to Bo Dallas, drilling Bo with the three-man powerbomb. The Shield then stares down The Miz as Roman Reigns makes it clear that he wants a shot at the Intercontinental Championship.

After losing the RAW Tag Team Titles to Cesaro & Sheamus two weeks ago, The Shield’s Dean Ambrose, with Seth Rollins in his corner, would go one-on-one with RAW Tag Team Champion Sheamus, with Cesaro in his corner. During the match, Cesaro would attack Seth Rollins from behind on the outside in an attempt to try and catch Dean Ambrose off-guard but it would ultimately fail. Later on in the match, Seth Rollins would dive out of the ring to take out Cesaro and, with Sheamus’ focus on Rollins, Dean Ambrose would take advantage, hitting Sheamus with Dirty Deeds and pinning one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champions for the win.

After coming up short against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at Survivor Series, RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss would appear on RAW. Alexa says that she took Charlotte to the “limit” at Survivor Series and the only reason Charlotte won was because she got “lucky”. The champion admits that Survivor Series may not have been her night but 2017 has been “the year of Alexa Bliss” before saying that she’s still the “Goddess of WWE” and there isn’t a woman “on the planet” that can hold a candle to her. This brings out Mickie James, who says that everyone is tired of hearing from “little miss biscuit butt” before saying that Survivor Series and it’s back to “RAW business” before saying that the only business she’s concerned with is the RAW Women’s Championship. Bayley then comes out to the ring, admitting that 2017 has been Alexa Bliss’ year before saying that 2017 isn’t over yet, saying that the RAW Women’s Title is hers.

The interruptions then keep on coming as “The Boss” Sasha Banks comes out to the ring, saying that RAW needs a “legit boss” as champion. Alicia Fox then says that, as the captain of the RAW Women’s Team, RAW would never have beaten SmackDown LIVE without her “guts”. Alexa says that she wants to thank all of them, saying that this has been a “colossal waste” of her time before saying that none of them “deserve” a title opportunity. Alexa then leaves the ring before RAW General Manager Kurt Angle comes out, informing Alexa Bliss and the women in the ring that they are going to have a Fatal 4-Way Match right now to decide who will be the next Superstar to face Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship.

In a match made by Kurt Angle moments earlier, Mickie James, Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Alicia Fox would face off in a Fatal 4-Way Match with the first Superstar to score a pinfall or submission earning a shot at the RAW Women’s Title. During the match, Bayley and Alicia Fox would get taken out on the outside, leaving it down to Sasha Banks and Mickie James in the ring with Mickie avoiding the Back Stabber that would lead into the Bank Statement before both women have the same idea as Sasha and Mickie take each other out with clotheslines, leaving both Superstars down in the ring. However, this would pave the way for a shocking return as the Houston crowd is brought to their feet and Sasha and Mickie are left in a state of disbelief as, after being out of action for over a year, former Divas Champion Paige would make her return to RAW! Paige says that she didn’t mean to interrupt their business but she just wanted to come out and say that she’s back before saying that she didn’t come alone.

With this ominous message, Paige would make her way to the ring but this is when Mickie James would get ambushed in the ring by two interlopers as Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose from NXT arrive on RAW! The former MMA competitor and the Total Divas star would take out Mickie James before targeting Sasha Banks, taking out “The Boss”. Bayley would then get involved before Paige gets her hands dirty, dropping Bayley with a kick to the mid-section. The trio then set their sights on Alicia Fox, but Alicia is quick to flee the ringside area, screaming all the way to the back. Paige, Sonja, & Mandy would then inflict further damage as Mandy Rose would hit Mickie James with a double underhook facebuster before Soya Deville drops Sasha Banks with a martial arts kick. Paige then puts an exclamation point on the ambush by spiking Bayley with the Ram Paige. Paige, Sonya, & Mandy then stand tall in the ring, having decimated three former champions in a shocking assault.

Backstage, Paige, Sonya Deville, & Mandy Rose are asked about their actions but the interview is interrupted by Alexa Bliss as the RAW Women’s Champion says that they don’t have to explain anything. Alexa then tells the trio “bravo” before Paige makes the introductions and Alexa says that it’s nice to meet Sonya & Mandy before Paige, Sonya, & Mandy attack Alexa! The trio send Alexa into a nearby garage door before all three women put the boots to the RAW Women’s Champion, leaving Alexa laid out on the concrete floor.

In a match made earlier in the night by Stephanie McMahon, Kurt Angle’s son Jason Jordan would have the unenviable task of going one-on-one with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman. During the match, Jason Jordan would roll out of the ring, claiming his leg was hurt from last week and this is when Kane would appear as “The Big Red Machine” would ambush Braun Strowman with a steel chair, ending the match by disqualification. Kane would send Braun out of the ring with a big boot before following Strowman to the outside, continuing to punish Strowman with the chair. Kane then positions the chair on the throat of “The Monster Among Men”, slamming the chair into the steel steps, possibly crushing the throat of Braun! Kane then leaves the scene as referees and security rush out to try and help out but, despite desperately gasping for air, Braun would refuse any assistance as Strowman stumbles to the back.

After successfully defending the Cruiserweight Title against Kalisto on the Survivor Series Kickoff, the Cruiserweight Champion was on RAW as Enzo Amore would be in the corner of Drew Gulak, Tony Nese, Noam Dar, & Ariya Daivari in their match against the team of Akira Tozawa, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, & Mustafa Ali in an 8-Man Tag match. In the end, it was Mustafa Ali hitting the 054 on Noam Dar, pinning Dar to pick up the win for his team.

Elias would then make an appearance on RAW with a song about his win over Matt Hardy on the Survivor Series Kickoff but Matt would interrupt the performance, sparking a brawl between Matt and Elias which Matt gets the better of as Elias retreats up the ramp.

Then it was time for the main event as the Intercontinental Championship would be on the line as The Miz, with no Miztourage in his corner thanks to The Shield, would defend the Intercontinental Title against “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns. During the match, Roman Reigns would go for the Superman Punch, but the crafty Miz would chop the knee of Reigns. Shortly after this, The Miz would take a leap off of the top rope but Roman would catch the champion with the Superman Punch. Roman then sizes Miz up for the Spear but Cesaro & Sheamus would rush out with Sheamus getting knocked off of the ring apron by Reigns. The Miz would then take advantage, hitting “The Big Dog” with the Skull Crushing Finale but Reigns would kick out!

Roman’s Shield brethren Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins would then come out to even the score, brawling with Cesaro & Sheamus and ultimately getting the better of the RAW Tag Team Champions. Meanwhile, in the ring, both The Miz and Roman Reigns would climb back to their feet before Reigns is able to catch Miz with the Spear, pinning The Miz to become the brand new Intercontinental Champion! After the match, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins would enter the ring to celebrate as “The Big Dog” proudly holds up his new prize, having won the prestigious Intercontinental Title for the first time in his career.

I was disappointed by the “brawl” between Matt Hardy and Elias Feud. It added absolutely nothing for me. Like, what did that even accomplish other than taking up time? I loved watching Asuka take down Brooke after watching Brooke talk such a big game.
