With Survivor Series coming up this Sunday where RAW and SmackDown LIVE will go head-to-head, RAW kicks off with RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie says that she has to make decisions that the fans cannot even fathom before saying that she needs “leaders” to help her make those decisions. The Commissioner then brings out RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, who will captain Team RAW in the Men’s Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match against Team SmackDown LIVE this Sunday night. Kurt says that he knows that Stephanie is upset but he was fully “prepared” for SmackDown LIVE’s invasion last week. However, Stephanie says that she isn’t upset but asks the GM how The New Day got into the arena last week. Kurt admits that he doesn’t know how The New Day got into the building before Stephanie asks if there was a raid last week or did her brother Shane just “manipulate” Kurt again. The Commissioner then recounts what has happened the last few weeks with SmackDown LIVE twice invading RAW and getting the better of the red brand.

Stephanie then takes issue with Kurt naming his son, Jason Jordan, as the fifth and final member of Team RAW last week, asking what accolades or achievements Jason Jordan has accomplished that make him a “valuable” part of Team RAW. Kurt responds by saying that Jason Jordan is “very talented” and Stephanie decides to ask her question a different way, asking Kurt who Team SmackDown LIVE’s fifth member is with the GM hesitating before saying John Cena. Stephanie then points out that the last time she saw John Cena, the sixteen-time former World Champion was on RAW, saying that Kurt either chose his own son, Jason Jordan, over John Cena for Team RAW or John Cena was so “embarrassed” by Kurt’s actions on RAW that Cena decided that he would rather be on Team SmackDown LIVE. The Commissioner then says that she is going to give the GM another chance, asking Kurt what Kurt is going to do first at Survivor Series.

The GM boldly responds by vowing to break Shane McMahon’s ankle at Survivor Series before saying that he is going to start the match for Team RAW and, if Shane has “any balls”, he will start the match for Team SmackDown LIVE! Stephanie responds by saying that Shane is going to let his team fight for him before saying that she doesn’t think that Kurt is even “capable” of breaking anyone’s ankle anymore! The Commissioner continues, saying that the GM has gone “soft” and that she has made the “biggest mistake” of her career by making Kurt the captain of Team RAW. Stephanie then says that she doesn’t want a broken ankle, she wants her brother’s “head on a platter”, saying she wants Kurt and Team RAW to “decimate” Shane and Team SmackDown LIVE.

The Commissioner then says that Kurt has left her “no other choice” but before Stephanie can fire Kurt Angle, the proceedings are interrupted by the return of The Shield as Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and the returning Roman Reigns make their way to the ring. Ambrose vouches for Kurt Angle, saying that Kurt is a “leader” and he proved at WWE TLC that he’s “still got it”. Stephanie responds by saying that Ambrose & Rollins are no longer the RAW Tag Team Champions because of Kurt Angle before pointing out that The Shield aren’t even scheduled to be a part of Survivor Series, saying Kurt “overlooked” them again. Stephanie then says that The New Day made Ambrose & Rollins look like “fools” last week before the Commissioner asks where Roman Reigns has been.

Roman responds by asking Stephanie the same question, asking where the Commissioner has been since WrestleMania where Stephanie went through a table at the hands of her husband, Triple H, who accidentally knocked Stephanie off of the ring apron through a table at ringside during Triple H’s match against Seth Rollins. Reigns then says that they do what they want to do before saying that they want to fight The New Day, saying that, if The New Day have the “balls” and they accept the challenge, then they will be booked at Survivor Series because it will be The New Day versus The Shield! Roman continues, saying that Kurt is going to lead Team RAW to victory while they are going to “whoop The New Day’s ass”, vowing to “destroy” The New Day!

With Team RAW captain Alicia Fox and her teammates Nia Jax, Asuka, & Sasha Banks at ringside, the opening match of the night would determine the fifth and final member of Team RAW for the Women’s Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match as Bayley, Dana Brooke, and Mickie James would compete in a Triple Threat Match with the winner earning the final spot on Team RAW. During the match, Mickie James would take Dana Brooke down and Dana would roll to the outside. Asuka would then try and be a good Samaritan by helping Dana to her feet but Dana would take offense to this and would pop Asuka with a forearm to the face!

Asuka then chases Dana in and out of the ring before dropping Dana with a spin kick. With no disqualifications in a Triple Threat Match, the match would resume with Mickie James and Bayley going counter-for-counter in the ring with Mickie going for the Mickie-DT but Bayley would counter into the Bayley-to-Belly, pinning Mickie to win the match and earn the final spot on Team RAW! After the match, Sasha Banks is the first to congratulate her best friend before the entire women’s team stands tall in the ring as it will be Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, Asuka, Sasha Banks, and Bayley representing RAW against Team SmackDown LIVE!

Before he defends the Cruiserweight Title against Kalisto on the Survivor Series Kickoff, Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore and Drew Gulak would face Kalisto and Akira Tozawa in tag team action on RAW. In the end, it was Enzo Amore hitting Akira Tozawa with the JawdonZo as Enzo pins Tozawa to pick up the win for his team.

Before he faces the United States Champion, who will either be Baron Corbin or Sin Cara depending on the outcome of the title match on SmackDown LIVE, at Survivor Series, Intercontinental Champion The Miz & The Miztourage would present Miz TV on RAW. The Miz says that Baron Corbin “squanders” opportunity after opportunity and the United States Championship has suffered as a result, pointing out that Corbin wasn’t even on SmackDown LIVE last week. The Miz then says that Baron Corbin wasn’t even good enough to be the “bathroom break” of SmackDown LIVE, saying that he’s on a completely different level than Corbin. The Miz continues, saying that he doesn’t squander opportunities, saying that he creates opportunities and he capitalizes on them.

The Intercontinental Champion then introduces his guests, who The Miz will be teaming up with to take on The Shield later in the evening, the new RAW Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus. Cesaro says that, while Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins were worried about defending RAW, they were worried about the RAW Tag Team Titles and they took advantage of an opportunity that presented itself. Sheamus then addresses The Usos, saying that they are the “flagship show tag team champions” before Cesaro vows to “jailbreak” the Uso Penitentiary. The Miz then says that they are going to face the original Shield tonight, saying that The Shield had to reunite for the “sole purpose” of facing The Miz and Cesaro & Sheamus, proclaiming that this is “our moment” and the reunion tour “ends tonight” before Cesaro & Sheamus proclaim that’s because they are “the bar”.

Before he joins Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, and his father Kurt Angle on Team RAW at Survivor Series this Sunday, Jason Jordan would go one-on-one with the returning Bray Wyatt. During the match, Bray Wyatt would go for Sister Abigail on Jason Jordan but Jordan would counter into a roll-up, scoring the three-count to pick up the upset victory over “The Eater of Worlds”. After the match, Bray Wyatt would attack Jason Jordan from behind, sending Jordan to the outside before blasting Jason with a clothesline. Bray then targets the left leg of Jason Jordan, slamming the leg of Jordan into the ring post. Jason Jordan then struggles to stand on the injured leg, requiring help from the referee to make it to the back.

Backstage, Jason Jordan is getting his leg iced down when he’s confronted by his father Kurt Angle. The GM expresses his concern with letting Jason Jordan compete at Survivor Series with Jason urging his father to let him compete, saying that it’s the “break” that he’s been waiting his “entire life” for and saying that he “deserves” it, leaving Kurt with a tough decision to make.

With his Champion vs. Champion match against new WWE Champion AJ Styles coming up this Sunday at Survivor Series, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman would make an appearance on RAW. Paul Heyman says that this Sunday will be the first and perhaps the only time that Brock Lesnar steps into the ring to face AJ Styles. The advocate then says that he wants to see Brock Lesnar versus AJ Styles, saying that he’s never seen Brock face someone who can claim to be better than Brock Lesnar. Heyman is then briefly silenced by a “she said yes” chant from the crowd as a proposal apparently went down during Paul Heyman’s promo with the bride-to-be accepting. Unable to help himself, Paul Heyman comments that she only said yes because she hasn’t been up close to a “Beast” like Brock Lesnar. Turning his attention back to AJ Styles, saying that Styles is the “ultimate opponent” for Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles is a WWE Champion to be “admired”. The advocate then says that Brock Lesnar is going to prove that he is the top champion in WWE and he will be “forever” before saying that AJ Styles is a “Rocky movie come to life”. Heyman continues, saying that AJ Styles cannot “survive” Suplex City and Styles cannot “survive” the F-5 before concluding that AJ Styles will be “victimized” and “conquered” by Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series this Sunday.

With a match against The New Day coming up this Sunday at Survivor Series, The Shield would face Intercontinental Champion The Miz, with The Miztourage in his corner, and new RAW Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus in a 6-Man Tag match. In the end, it was Roman Reigns running through The Miz with the Spear before all three members of The Shield put the Intercontinental Champion down with the three-man powerbomb as Roman pins The Miz to pick up the win for The Shield.

RAW General Manager Kurt Angle then appears in the ring as the GM says that he is about to make the “toughest decision” in his entire career. Kurt then explains that his son Jason Jordan was injured in a match against Bray Wyatt earlier tonight and, as a result, he cannot allow Jason Jordan to compete as a member of Team RAW this Sunday at Survivor Series. Kurt then says that he has decided to name a replacement before the GM is confronted by Jason Jordan, who has made his way onto the stage. Jason pleads with his father to not take this moment from him, limping his way to the ring as he tries to assure Kurt that he will be “fine”. Kurt says that it’s not worth it before Jason says that Kurt was his “idol”, saying that Kurt picked him because he was the “best option” before saying that he won’t get another opportunity like this. Jason continues, saying that this is the “one time” that he gets to be in a match with his father. Stephanie McMahon then breaks up the moment between father and son, ordering Kurt to make the announcement now before returning to the back.

With Kurt Angle still struggling with the decision, this paves the way for a moment for the ages as WWE COO Triple H makes his unexpected return to RAW, marching to the ring with a purpose and getting in the face of his most legendary rivals, Kurt Angle! Triple H tells Kurt that, if Kurt won’t make the announcement, then he will before “The Game” announces that he will be the fifth and final member of Team RAW at Survivor Series! Triple H then turns around and says something to Kurt Angle before delivering the Pedigree to Jason Jordan! Triple H then leaves the ring as Kurt rushes to his son’s side as we now know that it will be Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, & Triple H representing RAW against Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura, & John Cena representing SmackDown LIVE this Sunday at Survivor Series!

Before they are both a part of Team RAW at Survivor Series, Finn Balor and Samoa Joe would have to prove that they could put their differences aside for the good of Team RAW as Balor & Joe would face Gallows & Anderson on RAW. During the match, Finn Balor & Samoa Joe would prove just that as Joe dives out of the ring to take out Luke Gallows as, in the ring, Finn hits Karl Anderson with the Coup de Grace, pinning Anderson to pick up the win for himself and Samoa Joe.

Then it was time for the main event as monsters would collide as “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman would go one-on-one with “The Big Red Machine” Kane. The match would not even begin before Kane fires the first shot, catching Braun Strowman with a right hand before Braun fights back, taking Kane to the outside before methodically going about getting his revenge. However, “The Big Red Machine” would battle back, sending Strowman into the steel steps before Kane pulls a table out from under the ring, setting the table up on the outside. Kane then uses a steel chair on the back of “The Monster Among Men” before Braun gets his hands on the steel chair, delivering two chair shots to the back of Kane. Braun then sets Kane up for a superplex to the outside through a table but Kane fights back, getting back into the ring before trying for a chokeslam off of the second rope. Braun would counter with a double axe handle to Kane before “The Monster Among Men” picks Kane up for the running powerslam, delivering the powerslam to Kane all the way through the ring mat as both men fall completely out of sight!

Am I the only one who just skipped the first 20 minutes with Stephanie McMahon jabbering on as she is prone to do? I’m biased because I just can’t stand her. But you know who I do love watching? Samoa Joe. (And Finn Bálor, but mainly Samoa Joe.)
