Ten nights before Extreme Rules, the 873rd edition of WWE Thursday Night SmackDown came to you from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA. After a confrontation following a 6-Man Elimination Tag Match between The Family and The Club on RAW saw WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and #1 Contender AJ Styles both demonstrating that they do not need a steel chair to beat the other come the Extreme Rules Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules that ultimately ended with Reigns avoiding the Phenomenal Forearm and Styles narrowly avoiding a chair shot from the champion, Roman’s cousins would be in action on SmackDown as The Usos would face Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. Also on SmackDown, before all four men collide in a Fatal 4-Way Match for the Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules, “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro would join forces with “The Underdog from the Underground” Sami Zayn to face Kevin Owens and Intercontinental Champion The Miz.

  • Dana Brooke (with Emma) def. Becky Lynch by jackknife roll-up after a thumb to the eye from Emma.
  • Aiden English (with Simon Gotch) def. Kofi Kingston (with Big E & Xavier Woods) by counter roll-up while holding on to the middle rope.
  • Roman Reigns & AJ Styles Banned: The Usos def. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson by DQ after Luke Gallows throws Jimmy Uso over the announce table.
  • The Gorgeous Truth def. Goldango by Tyler Breeze pinning Goldust following a clothesline from Fandango.
  • The Miz (with Maryse) & Kevin Owens def. Cesaro & Sami Zayn by Kevin Owens pinning Cesaro following the frog splash.
