    Detailed Results

After the stunning debut of the newest member of The Wyatt Family, Braun Strowman, Monday night on RAW where Strowman single-handedly laid waste to both Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, SmackDown kicks off with The Wyatt Family as Bray Wyatt leads Luke Harper and the hulking Braun Strowman to the ring. Luke Harper says that the fans’ ears have been “clogged with the lies that they’ve been telling you”, saying that they are “already dead” and they don’t even know it. Harper then says that Bray Wyatt’s “truth” will give them “new life” before handing the microphone to Bray Wyatt. Bray says that his family means “everything” to him and he means “everything” to his family, saying that Sister Abigail has “inspired” him and, when he needed her the most, she gave him a “savior”. Bray continues, saying that Sister Abigail has told him everything about Braun Strowman, saying that the “black sheep” was “perfectly imperfect” and that Sister Abigail knows where Bray can lead Strowman. Bray then proclaims that he is the “new face of fear” and Luke Harper is the “new face of desolation” before introducing Strowman as the “new face of destruction”. Strowman then removes the black sheep mask, showing his sinister, grinning face. However, this brings out Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns as the duo looks to square off with The Wyatt Family. Remaining at ringside, Roman Reigns admits that Braun Strowman beat them down on RAW before saying that, if they’re going down, they’re “going down swinging”. Ambrose then says that he will take the “ugly one” before Ambrose & Reigns step into the ring, coming face-to-face with The Wyatt Family. Stroman steps forward to get in the face of Roman Reigns, but Bray Wyatt holds Strowman back, instructing Strowman and Luke Harper to back off, screaming that he’s “already inside” as The Wyatt Family backs up the ramp.

Competing in a WWE ring for the first time in a decade, the opening match of the night would see the legendary eighteen-time former tag team champions The Dudley Boyz would face The Ascension in tag team action. In the end, it was The Dudley Boyz scoring with the 3-D on Konnor as Bubba Ray pins Konnor for the win. After the match, The Dudley Boyz would set a table up in the ring before WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day come out with protest signs campaigning against The Dudley Boyz’ use of tables. However, Bubba Ray & D-Von would not heed the advice of The New Day as The Dudley Boyz would put Viktor through a table!

After they both picked up victories at SummerSlam this past Sunday night, SmackDown would see “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville going one-on-one with the self-proclaimed “Prizefighter” Kevin Owens. In the end, it was Kevin Owens planting Neville with the Pop-Up Powerbomb, pinning the high-flyer for the win.

The Divas were in action on SmackDown as Team PCB’s Charlotte & Becky Lynch would face Team Bella’s Brie Bella & Divas Champion Nikki Bella with Team B.A.D. guests on commentary. In the end, it was Charlotte surprising Brie Bella with a roll-up, scoring the three-count to pick up the win for herself and Becky Lynch.

After the shocking re-emergence of Sting on RAW where “The Icon” crashed Seth Rollins’ celebration, the WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins would make an appearance on SmackDown to address his Night of Champions opponent. The champion says that Monday night was supposed to be the “greatest night” of his life as his very own statue was set to unveiled and it was supposed to be a moment in time that would move him into “immortality”. Rollins then says that they have no idea what “greatness” truly is before reminding everyone that he is the first Superstar to hold the WWE World Heavyweight Title and the United States Title at the same time. Rollins continues, saying that there should be a movie about his life and the date that he beat John Cena at SummerSlam should be made into a “national holiday”, saying that he was set to take his place among other immortals like Bruno Sammartino, The Ultimate Warrior, & Andre The Giant before Sting showed up, hitting the Stinger Splash on the champion and effectively ruining Rollins’ celebration. Rollins then says that he can understand why Sting is “jealous” of him, saying that he has accomplished more in his few short years in WWE than Sting has in his “entire career”. The champion then asks what gives Sting the right to ruin his celebration and hold the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt above his head like Rollins owes him something. Rollins then says that he’s not afraid of some “freak” who walks around wearing face paint and carrying a baseball bat, saying that Triple H’s biggest regret is not finishing Sting off at WrestleMania, claiming that he “begged” Triple H for the match against Sting at Night of Champions so he could get what he wants. The champion then says that it will be “The Architect” Seth Rollins against “the artifact” Sting, vowing to “crush” Sting’s “old bones to dust”! Rollins then holds both title belts high, leaving no doubt that he truly believes that he will end Sting’s career at Night of Champions.

Following a successful defense of the Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat Match against The Miz and Big Show at SummerSlam, Intercontinental Champion Ryback would team with “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler, with Lana in his corner, to face the formidable team of “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show and “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev, with Summer Rae in his corner. During the match, Big Show would level Dolph Ziggler with the Knockout Punch, but Rusev would tag himself into the match and, after some taunting from Rusev, Rusev would lock in the Accolade on Dolph Ziggler. However, this is when Big Show had enough of Rusev as “The World’s Largest Athlete” blasts Rusev with the Knockout Punch before walking out on the match as Dolph comes to, pinning Rusev to pick up the three-count, scoring the win for his team thanks to Big Show.

Then it was time for the main event as, after he and Roman Reigns confronted The Wyatt Family earlier in the night, Dean Ambrose would have to shift his focus to his opponent as “The Lunatic Fringe” would go one-on-one with “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Sheamus. During the match, Dean Ambrose was moments away from victory when The Wyatt Family appears at ringside, distracting Ambrose long enough for Sheamus to capitalize with the Brogue Kick to “The Lunatic Fringe”, pinning Ambrose for the win. After the match, The Wyatt Family would surround Dean Ambrose in the ring before Roman Reigns’ music would hit, prompting Luke Harper to exit the ring. While Harper would wait for Roman to enter the crowd, Roman would rush Harper from behind, taking Harper out with the Superman Punch. Roman Reigns would then enter the ring, coming face-to-face with Braun Strowman and, while Reigns would try his best to put a dent in the monster, Strowman would dominate Roman just like he did on RAW. Strowman would ragdoll Reigns in the modified Cobra Clutch until Reigns was rendered unconscious, following it up with a big slam to Reigns in the middle of the ring. Bray then kneels next to Reigns with Harper and Strowman standing behind him as Bray screams “follow the buzzards”.
