    Seth Rollins 13 16092014

    Detailed Results

Still beaming about breaking the nose of John Cena two weeks ago on RAW, RAW would kick off with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. The champion says that he’s the one who broke the nose of “Mr. You Can’t See Knee” and he is the “champion of champions”. Rollins then says that, last week, he challenged John Cena to a one-on-one, title-for-title match at SummerSlam and they have heard nothing from John Cena for the past week. The champion continues, pondering what Cena is doing with his free time, mocking Cena’s time as a rapper and saying that he “destroyed” Cena’s career just like he destroyed Cena’s face with his knee. Rollins then says that, if John Cena does not want to show up to SummerSlam and fight him “like a man”, then Cena can come to Brooklyn and forfeit the United States Championship before saying that he will be the first man to ever hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the United States Championship at the same time. Rollins then says that he wishes that Cena had the “courage” to show up and confront him, saying that he wishes that Cena was “half the man” that he claims to be.

Pretending to be told that John Cena is live via satellite, Seth Rollins shows a still photo of John Cena with Rollins’ mouth moving in place of Cena’s mouth. Mocking John Cena, Rollins mouths that Cena is changing his motto to “surgery, recovery, rehab” before the faux Cena admits that he is “giving up”. Seth Rollins then proclaims, as himself, that the fans deserve a “fighting champion” and he proved that last week when he defeated Neville in the first ever WWE World Heavyweight Championship Open Challenge, saying that Neville just doesn’t have “what it takes to be a champion”. The champion is then interrupted by “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro, who makes his way to the ring, saying that, since Rollins mentioned the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Open Challenge, he wants to be the first to accept Rollins’ challenge tonight.

Rollins responds by saying that he didn’t say anything about having an open challenge this week, asking what Cesaro has done to earn a title match. This brings out Kevin Owens, who says that Cesaro has done “nothing” to earn a title match before saying that he has defeated John Cena, which is something that neither Cesaro or Rollins has done. Now in the ring, Kevin Owens says that, if anyone deserves a title shot tonight, it’s him. Rollins asks Cesaro and Owens if they are “deaf or dumb”, again saying that he said nothing about defending the title tonight. “The Viper” then makes his way to the ring as Randy Orton says that he also deserves a title shot, but Rollins continues to refuse, saying that it doesn’t matter what the fans or The Authority thinks, he thinks that all three of them should get out of his ring! Things then continue to get more interesting once WWE COO Triple H comes out to the stage, revealing that WWE doctors have informed him that John Cena “fifty-fifty at best” to make it to SummerSlam, saying that it creates a lot of “turmoil” surrounding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but “turmoil” creates some “great competition”. Triple H then announces that, tonight, there will be a Triple Threat Match between Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton and the winner of that match will face Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event!

For the first time since the start of the Diva Revolution, two of the teams embroiled in the Divas division shake-up would square off on RAW as Team Bella, which consists of Divas Champion Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, & Alicia Fox, would face Team B.A.D., which consists of Naomi, Tamina, & NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, in a 6-Diva Tag Match with Team PCB, Paige, Charlotte, & Becky Lynch, guests on commentary. In the end, it was Tamina going for a super kick on Brie Bella, but Brie would duck the kick, rolling Tamina up and securing the three-count to pick up the win for Team Bella. After the match, Sasha Banks and Naomi would join Tamina in attacking Brie Bella before the other two members of Team Bella enter the ring followed by Team PCB as all three teams brawl in the ring! Divas get tossed out of the ring left and right before it comes down to Charlotte and Brie Bella as Charlotte takes Brie down with a Spear. Sasha Banks then re-enters the ring, followed by Naomi & Tamina, as well as Paige as Team PCB and Team B.A.D. come face-to-face before both teams glance at Team Bella, who regrouped on the entrance ramp.

In tag team action, The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, would face Los Matadores, with El Torito in their corner. In the end, it was Big E & Kofi Kingston hitting the Midnight Hour before Big E pins Diego for the win.

Per the orders of WWE COO Triple H, “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and “The Viper” Randy Orton would face off in a Triple Threat Match with the winner facing Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event. In a hard-fought, hard-hitting Triple Threat Match, Randy Orton looked poised for victory after dropping both Cesaro and Kevin Owens with the suspended DDT, but shortly after this, Owens would pull Orton out of the ring and Cesaro would dive to the outside, taking out both of his opponents before bringing Owens back into the ring. Cesaro would position Owens on the top rope, but Owens would counter, going for a senton bomb off of the top rope but Cesaro would get his knees up. Owens then fires back with a super kick to the face of Cesaro before Owens would set Cesaro up for the Pop-Up Powerbomb, but “The Swiss Superman” would counter, leap-frogging and landing behind Owens just as Orton re-enters the ring, striking with the RKO to Owens! “The Viper” then follows this up with an RKO to Cesaro as well as Orton pins Cesaro to win a hellacious Triple Threat Match and will face Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event later on in the night!

Less than two weeks before he teams with his “brother” Roman Reigns to face Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper at SummerSlam, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose, with Roman Reigns in his corner, would go one-on-one with Luke Harper, with Bray Wyatt in his corner, on RAW. During a hard-hitting match, Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper would battle on the outside and, when Bray Wyatt gets in Ambrose’s face, “The Lunatic Fringe” would toss Bray over the announce table. This would lead to all hell breaking loose as Bray Wyatt would charge at Dean Ambrose on the outside, but Ambrose would duck and Roman Reigns would blast Bray with the Superman Punch! Luke Harper then grabs Reigns and takes Reigns out with a super kick before Ambrose dives to the outside, taking out Harper. Ambrose then brings Harper back into the ring, but Harper would knock Ambrose off of the top rope, following it up with the Discus Clothesline, pinning “The Lunatic Fringe” for the win, narrowly escaping Roman Reigns as he exits the ring.

Then it was time for a special edition of Miz TV as the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” The Miz would welcome former World Champion and current Tough Enough judge Daniel Bryan as his guest. Before introducing his guest, The Miz addresses “Arrow” star Stephen Amell in the front row, offering to “re-brand” Amell and teach him “how to act”. The Miz then introduces his guest, saying that he plucked his guest from “obscurity” and made him into a star, bringing out Washington’s own Daniel Bryan as the New York Times Bestselling Author joins The Miz in the ring on Miz TV. As the fans relentlessly chant “yes”, Daniel Bryan is elated over the reaction and, once things settle down, Daniel Bryan said that there was no way he was going to miss being a part of RAW in Washington, leading a “Seahawks” chant. Bryan says that The Miz can take credit for a lot of things, but his accomplishments are not thanks to The Miz, they are thanks to hard work and to the fans who have supported him. The Miz then turns his focus to Daniel Bryan’s medical status, saying that Bryan is still not cleared to return to the ring, asking Daniel Bryan what it’s like to sit at home all day and “dwell on the past”. Bryan takes this opportunity to plug his New York Times Bestselling book, as well as mention that he has been busy as a judge on Tough Enough. The Miz reminds everyone that he is also a judge on Tough Enough, calling himself the “most qualified” judge before saying that he taught Daniel Bryan how to have “integrity” and that integrity is what led to Bryan’s decision to relinquish the Intercontinental Championship due to injury.

The Miz then says that Ryback should do what Daniel Bryan did and do the “right thing”, saying that Ryback should back out of the Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam and award the title to The Miz. This brings out the other challenger in the Triple Threat Match at SummerSlam as “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show crashes Miz TV. Once Big Show enters the ring, The Miz looks ready to make a run for it and, in the middle of Big Show shouting at the fans, the Intercontinental Champion makes his return to WWE as “The Big Guy” Ryback makes his way to the ring! The Miz is quick to leave the ring and Daniel Bryan respectfully leaves the ring, leaving Ryback and Big Show to go face-to-face in the ring with The Miz eagerly anticipating Ryback and Big Show tearing each other apart. However, Daniel Bryan has different plans as Bryan grabs The Miz and throws him into the ring, right in the middle of the face-off between Ryback and Big Show! Big Show shoves both Ryback and The Miz into the corner before Big Show hurls The Miz across the ring. Big Show then squashes The Miz in the corner before Ryback levels Big Show with the Meat Hook Clothesline! Daniel Bryan then comes back into the ring, pointing at The Miz and leading a “yes” chant, motivating Ryback to level The Miz with the Meat Hook Clothesline as well! Bryan then hands Ryback his Intercontinental Title belt before both men celebrate.

With Lana a guest on commentary, Rusev was in action on RAW as “The Bulgarian Brute”, with Summer Rae in his corner, would go one-on-one with “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry, who would bring out the American flag with him as the two super heavyweights would collide. Early on in the match, Summer Rae would get on the ring apron to distract Mark Henry and this would raise the ire of Lana as Lana pulls Summer Rae off of the ring apron, but as Rusev is screaming at Lana, Summer Rae would come from behind, rolling Lana into the ring. Lana would show no fear of “The Bulgarian Brute” before Summer Rae comes into the ring, blind-siding Lana as Rusev sends Mark Henry into the steel steps on the outside, keeping Henry from getting involved. Meanwhile, in the ring, Summer Rae continues to assault Lana before Rusev pulls Summer off of Lana before instructing Lana to “crush” and Summer Rae locks in her own version of the Accolade, further humiliating Lana. The Bulgarian flag then unrolls behind Rusev & Summer Rae which now features Rusev front and center!

“The Man That Gravity Forgot” was in action on RAW as Neville would go one-on-one with 2015 King of the Ring winner King Barrett. In the end, it was Neville hitting the Red Arrow on King Barrett, pinning Barrett for the win. However, as soon as the match was over, Stardust would hit the ring, attacking Neville before turning his attention to Stephen Amell in the front row. Stardust would approach the “Arrow” star before putting his hands on the actor, shoving Amell down! However, Amell would not back down as the actor would jump the barricade and leap into the ring, taking down Stardust and pummeling Stardust with right hands! Security is quick to jump into the ring, pulling Amell off of Stardust as King Barrett helps Stardust out of the ring. Neville then shakes hands with Stephen Amell before the “Arrow” star agrees to leave the ring on his own accord.

Moments after attacking Stardust in the ring, actor Stephen Amell, who is flanked by Neville and arena security, is being reprimanded by WWE COO Triple H, who says that Amell is lucky that he was able to leave the ring in one piece. Neville speaks up, telling the COO that it was Stardust who started all of this and Triple H says that he will deal with Stardust. This is when the actor tells Triple H to let he and Neville deal with Stardust, but the COO just laughs off the actor’s audacity, saying that Amell will never be “one of us”. Amell says that he is an actor, but he is also a man, saying that he is going to fight back before Neville tells Triple H to let the two of them take care of Stardust at SummerSlam. Triple H says that he’s done talking about this, pointing Amell towards the parking lot. However, the star of “Arrow” shows no fear towards Triple H, saying that he will sign whatever he needs to sign to absolve WWE of any responsibility for what happens at SummerSlam, getting in the COO’s face and telling him to “make the match”! Triple H then mulls this over before saying that he will send the paperwork to Amell’s agent and he wants all the paperwork signed, saying that he is washing his hands of any responsibility for Amell’s well-being. Triple H then makes it official, announcing that the team of Stardust and King Barrett will face Neville and Stephen Amell at SummerSlam! Triple H then tells Amell not to bring his “stunt man” before wishing the actor luck in his match, telling him that he’s going to need it.

Then it was time for the main event as, after outlasting Cesaro and Kevin Owens in a Triple Threat Match to earn the opportunity, Randy Orton would get the opportunity to win his thirteenth World Title as “The Viper” would challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. In a hard-fought championship match, both men would take it to each other, but when Seth Rollins looks for a move off of the top rope, Randy Orton catches Rollins in mid-air with the RKO, leaving just a three-count between Orton and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! This is when Sheamus would come down to ruin the whole thing as “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” pulls Orton out of the ring, ending the match by disqualification. Sheamus then sends Orton face-first into the steel ring post before sending Orton into the steel steps as well before tossing Orton over the barricade. Sheamus then turns his attention to Seth Rollins in the ring as the champion is slowly getting to his feet and Sheamus brings his Money-in-the-Bank briefcase in the ring with him, blasting Seth Rollins with the Brogue Kick for good measure.

Sheamus then informs the referee that he is cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank contract for a WWE World Heavyweight Title match right now! However, before the referee can ring the bell, Randy Orton is back in the ring as “The Viper” strikes with the RKO, delivering a measure of payback, costing Sheamus the WWE World Heavyweight Championship just like Sheamus did to Orton moments earlier! This leaves Randy Orton as the last man standing in the ring as “The Viper” stands tall over a fallen Sheamus as Seth Rollins rolls to the outside of the ring, clutching his WWE World Heavyweight Title belt, having twice come within an eyelash of losing the championship on the same night.
