WWE RAW Results: July 27, 2015By Cassidy| July 28, 2015 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After last week’s huge brawl between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker that resulted in WWE COO Triple H having to enlist several WWE Superstars to try their best to break up the fight, RAW kicks off with The Authority as WWE COO Triple H, WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon, and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins make their way to the ring. Triple H starts out by promising a “massive announcement”, saying that SummerSlam is coming up in a few short weeks and this year’s SummerSlam will be “bigger than ever”, revealing that, for the first time ever, “The Biggest Event of the Summer” will be a four-hour event! Stephanie then touts the huge main event of SummerSlam as The Undertaker will go one-on-one with Brock Lesnar before Triple H says that RAW will be a “night of firsts”, announcing that, for the first time ever, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose will face “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show. Stephanie then announces that former Divas Champion Paige will go one-on-one with reigning NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. Triple H then announces that, for the first time ever, Kevin Owens will go one-on-one with “The Viper” Randy Orton! The first time matches continue to roll out as Stephanie announces that Divas Champion Nikki Bella and Alicia Fox will face Becky Lynch and Charlotte in tag team action. Seth Rollins then says that he knows all about “firsts”, reminding everyone that he was the first Superstar in history to cash in the Money-in-the-Bank contract at WrestleMania where he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The champion continues, saying he went one-on-one with Brock Lesnar at Battleground and walked out as the champion before telling the fans to stand up and admit that he is one of the “greatest WWE World Heavyweight Champions of all-time”. This brings out United States Champion John Cena, who makes his way to the ring to confront Seth Rollins. Cena calls Rollins an “arrogant jackass”, saying that of all the WWE Hall of Famers that have held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and Rollins claims to be the “greatest ever”, saying that he disagrees, calling Rollins a “joke”. Cena continues, saying that, on a night like tonight, they need to find out who’s telling the “truth” and saying that he’s not going to ask Rollins to do anything about it because he tried that last week and Rollins tucked tail and ran. The United States Champion then proposes an idea to The Authority, asking for a match against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! Rollins responds by telling Cena to “shut the hell up”, saying that Cena has to “earn” his opportunities before Stephanie interrupts the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, saying that they should let the people decide. The Principal Owner then polls the crowd on whether or not they want to see John Cena face Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on RAW. The fans overwhelmingly roar their approval, but Stephanie says “no”, denying Cena his title match, saying that Cena has to earn his shot. Triple H then says that no one wants to see the WWE World Heavyweight Championship defended on RAW, but Cena has a valid idea. The COO then announces that Seth Rollins will face John Cena in the main event, but it will be for John Cena’s United States Championship! The opening match of the night would be one of many firsts on RAW as, for the first time ever, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would go one-on-one with “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show with The Miz a guest on commentary. During the match, Big Show would take control of the match, but the unique Dean Ambrose would manage to untie Big Show’s boot, keeping the giant pre-occupied long enough for “The Lunatic Fringe” to gain control of the match. Big Show would re-assert his dominance in the match and “The World’s Largest Athlete” would repeatedly knock Ambrose to the outside, but every time Big Show does, Ambrose manages to make it back into the ring. However, when Dean Ambrose goes for a dive to the outside, Big Show catches “The Lunatic Fringe” in mid-air with the Knockout Punch, leaving Ambrose face-down on the arena floor as Big Show gets back into the ring. Ambrose would struggle to get to his feet, but was unable to make it back into the ring before the referee’s ten-count before Ambrose collapses on the floor as Big Show wins the match by count-out. After the match, Dean Ambrose would manage to use the ringside barricade to pull himself to his feet as Big Show glares at Ambrose and when Ambrose falls off of his feet, Big Show starts to walk away with a smile on his face. However, when Big Show spots Ambrose back on his feet, “The World’s Largest Athlete” charges at Ambrose, but “The Lunatic Fringe” moves out of the way at the last second and the giant sends himself crashing through the barricade! Ambrose then walks away with a smile on his face, barely able to stand after a grueling match. Neville was in action on RAW as “The Man That Gravity Forgot” went one-on-one with Fandango. In the end, it was Neville hitting the Red Arrow, pinning Fandango for the win. After the match, Stardust would appear on the Tron, saying that the problem with the world today is that everyone wants a “feel good story” that is filled with “superheroes”, expressing his disdain for “green-hooded heroes”. Stardust then says that he will “rescue” the fans from the “overprotective do-gooders” and there is nothing that Neville can do to stop him, telling Neville to be his “hero”. As the Diva Revolution continues to sweep the Divas division, the leader of Team Paige was in action on RAW as Paige, with Charlotte and Becky Lynch in her corner, would go one-on-one with NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, with Naomi and Tamina in her corner, in a non-title match. During the match, Charlotte & Becky Lynch and Naomi & Tamina would be ejected from ringside, leaving Paige and Sasha Banks to go it alone against each other. At the end of an awesome match, it was Sasha Banks locking in the Bank Statement as the NXT Women’s Champion makes Paige tap out to pick up a big win. “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev and Summer Rae would make an in-ring appearance on RAW as Rusev says that his heart wants to “burst out” for the woman that “healed” his soul, the always “hot and obedient” Summer Rae. Rusev then says that he is going to show everyone how to “treat a special woman” before bringing a red box in the ring that has a rather large puppy in it. Summer is elated to see the puppy, asking what the puppy’s name is and Rusev says that, judging by the dog’s “ugly looks” and the fact that he is “neutered”, they should call him Dolph Ziggler. Rusev then escorts the dog out of the ring before presenting another gift to Summer Rae, a headless fish. While disgusted to hold the headless fish, Summer is amused when Rusev refers to the “cold fish” as Lana. Having heard enough, Lana marches to the ring, saying that Rusev comes out there every week and tries to spread lies about her but it always fails and that is because the fans see right through Rusev. Lana continues, saying that Rusev dresses Summer Rae up just like her and Rusev kisses Summer while looking at her, calling Summer a “pathetic Lana”. Again using the “cold fish” as a reference to Lana, Summer Rae says that Rusev is used to cuddling up with a cold fish, but now he is cuddling up with Summer Rae. Lana laughs at Summer Rae before kicking Summer in the leg and grabbing her by the hair, rubbing Summer’s face in the disgusting fish! Lana then slaps Rusev across the face before leaving the ring as Rusev throws the fish at the ramp before tending to Summer Rae, who is beside herself after her humiliation. In a high-flying tag team match, The Lucha Dragons would square off with Los Matadores, with El Torito in their corner, with WWE Tag Team Champions The Prime Time Players guests on commentary. In the middle of the match, The New Day would come out to ringside, taunting The Prime Time Players, leading to a face-off between the two teams. Meanwhile, in the ring, Kalisto hooks Fernando in a roll-up, scoring the three-count as The Lucha Dragons pick up the win. “The New Face of Fear” Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper would make their way to the ring on RAW as Luke Harper would “re-commit” to Bray Wyatt. Bray says that he’s not a betting man, but it’s a safe bet to assume that everyone in the crowd has a family, saying that their parents have been “force feeding” them “lies” their entire lives, saying that their parents do not love them. Bray continues, saying that the truth can be “shocking” and “terrifying” and all they need to do is look outside, saying that the ones who are sent to “protect” them are the ones they should “fear the most”. Bray then says that, the sooner that they realize that, the sooner they can be “set free” before saying that he used to have a “pet” and that pet would give his life for him. Bray continues, saying that, one day, he walked outside and set his pet free and that pet came running back to him just like he knew he would, but the pet had a scar that ran from his eye to his nose and he knew right then and there that his pet had “changed”. Bray then says that his pet learned that the world had teeth that were “much sharper” than his own, saying that you have to “get them before they get you”. Bray says that Luke Harper was a “damaged man” and he fixed Harper just like you fix a “broken tool” and he knew that, one day, he would set Harper free so that he may learn his “own truth”. Bray then hands the microphone to Luke Harper as Harper says that there was a time where he didn’t know why a man like him existed but his “family” found him and Bray showed him the “truth”. Harper then says that the world has made him what he is, saying that the world “shunned” him and the world created him, but Bray Wyatt “saved” him. Harper continues, saying that Bray made him “stronger” than ever and showed him his path in life, saying that when you “pray for the rain, you best be prepared for the mud” before proclaiming to Bray Wyatt, “my life for you”. Bray Wyatt then says that he tried to warn Roman Reigns that this is only the beginning, saying that he is not a “liar” and saying that Roman claims that Dean Ambrose is his “brother”, but if Reigns really cared about Ambrose, he would tell Ambrose that he is in “danger” and that Ambrose should stay out of their business. Bray continues, saying that this is Roman’s “burden to bear” and he will seal Roman’s “fate” before proclaiming “we’re here”, kneeling in the center of the ring and shouting “follow the buzzards”. In Divas tag action, Team Paige members Charlotte & Becky Lynch, with Paige in their corner, would face two-thirds of Team Bella in Divas Champion Nikki Bella & Alicia Fox, with Brie Bella in their corner. In the end, it was Becky Lynch locking in the Disarmer on Alicia Fox, making Alicia tap out to pick up the win for her team. On a night of firsts, former NXT Champion Kevin Owens would go one-on-one with a twelve-time former World Champion in “The Viper” Randy Orton for the first time ever with “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Sheamus a guest on commentary. During a hard-hitting match, the action would spill to the outside and that is when Sheamus would strike as “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” would wait until Randy Orton’s back was turned to get behind “The Viper” and, when Orton turns around, Sheamus blasts Orton with the Brogue Kick, ending the match by disqualification. Sheamus then rolls Orton into the ring, but before Sheamus can do any further damage, Cesaro rushes to the ring, catching Sheamus with an uppercut before diving to the outside of the ring, taking down Kevin Owens! Cesaro then hammers away at Owens on the outside before Sheamus gets involved, but Cesaro catches Sheamus with an uppercut. “The Swiss Superman” then rolls Owens into the ring, but Sheamus would grab the ankle of Cesaro, distracting Cesaro long enough for Kevin Owens to get to his feet and catch an oncoming Cesaro, slamming Cesaro down with the Pop-Up Powerbomb. Owens then stands over Cesaro, glaring at Sheamus before having a few choice words for “The Swiss Superman” and exiting the ring. Then it was time for the main event as, per the orders of The Authority, John Cena would defend the United States Championship against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. During the intense match, Seth Rollins would catch John Cena with a stiff knee to the face of Cena, possibly breaking the nose of the United States Champion as blood pours from Cena’s nose, causing a temporary halt to the match as a ringside doctor tends to Cena before the doctor exits the ring and the referee lets the match continue. After nearly getting pinned, Cena would pop up and deliver the Attitude Adjustment to Seth Rollins, but Rollins would kick out and the ringside doctor would clean Cena’s nose up again as it becomes evident that Cena’s nose was broken. The match would continue and Rollins would catch Cena on the top rope and, in an incredible move, Rollins would deliver a superplex to Cena, but would hold onto to the suplex position, picking Cena up off of the mat and hitting a Michinoku Driver, but Cena kicks out! Rollins then goes for the Phoenix Splash, but Cena moves out of the way and Cena locks in the STF on Rollins, keeping Rollins away from the ropes and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion has no choice but to tap out as Cena not only successfully retains the United States Title with a broken nose, but makes the WWE World Heavyweight Champion tap out in the process! Bloody, but victorious, John Cena holds the United States Title high above his head, having made a major statement in a grueling title defense against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
