The 790th edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown would celebrate fifteen years of blue-clad excellence as the 15th Anniversary of SmackDown came to you from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. On a night that is sure to be full of surprises and nostalgia, the 15th Anniversary of SmackDown would kick off with the first SmackDown General Manager to rule over the show as WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon would open the show. While his wife would be kicking off SmackDown, WWE COO Triple H had an interesting confrontation with an old rival after RAW went off the air this past Monday night as “The Game” came face-to-face with “The Great One” The Rock and this face-off would air on SmackDown! What was said between two of the most iconic Superstars in WWE history?

Speaking of Triple H, the WWE COO revealed in his WWE.com exclusive interview with Michael Cole on Wednesday that a “wrinkle” will be added to the scheduled match between John Cena and Dean Ambrose at WWE Hell in a Cell where the winner will face Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell. What change will be made to the match and with John Cena and Dean Ambrose both in the arena, how will they respond? Also, as he prepares to face either John Cena or Dean Ambrose inside Hell in a Cell, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” was in action on SmackDown as Seth Rollins would go one-on-one with Kofi Kingston.

After he and the rest of the world were caught off-guard by the surprise return of The Rock this past Monday night on RAW, Rusev would try to shake off getting the smackdown laid on him by “The People’s Champion” as “The Hero of the Russian Federation” would go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler in a non-title match. The Divas Champion would also be in action on SmackDown as AJ Lee would go one-on-one with Paige’s new best friend, Alicia Fox, in a non-title match.
