The 40th edition of WWE Main Event came to you from the Landon Arena in Topeka, KS. Just under two weeks before they take part in the two Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Matches, “Captain Charisma” Christian would go one-on-one with “The Intellectual Savior of the Masses” Damien Sandow.
- Christian def. Damien Sandow by pin following the Killswitch.
- Jack Swagger def. Sin Cara by submission to the Patriot Lock.
- Big E. Langston def. Curt Hawkins by pin following the Big Ending.
The opening match of the night featured two of the participants in the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Matches at Money-in-the-Bank as one of competitors in Money-in-the-Bank All-Stars, Christian, would go one-on-one with one of the competitors in the World Heavyweight Championship Contract Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match, Damien Sandow. At the end of a long and grueling match, it was Christian hitting the Killswitch on Damien Sandow to finally pick up the big victory.
Jack Swagger would return to action on Main Event as “The Real American”, with Zeb Colter in his corner, would go one-on-one with Sin Cara. In the end, it was Jack Swagger locking in the Patriot Lock on Sin Cara, forcing Sin Cara to tap out to pick up the win.
With Divas Champion AJ Lee a guest on commentary, Big E. Langston was in action on Main Event as Langston would go one-on-one with Curt Hawkins. In the end, it was Big E. Langston leveling Curt Hawkins with the Big Ending en route to picking up the win.
