As first revealed in a tweet sent out prior to RAW going on the air Monday night, the reason that The Rock went home unexpectedly from the RAW taping was that, during his match with John Cena at WrestleMania, the now former WWE Champion tore his abdomen and adductor muscles completely off of the bone. Despite the painful injury, The Rock has revealed that he will not be having surgery to repair the muscle tears because it would postpone production on his latest movie.
As reported earlier this week, The Rock was scheduled to be a part of a major angle on RAW that would set up a match between Rock and Brock Lesnar for WrestleMania XXX next year. Anyone who saw this week’s RAW may have noticed that Paul Heyman made an appearance and mentioned that Lesnar was “looking for a fight” on RAW, but Brock did not make an appearance on the show. For now, it appears the angle has been nixed and The Rock’s future involvement with the WWE is unknown, but he is still scheduled to be a part of Extreme Rules next month.
