Foreshadowing?

The tenth edition of WWE Main Event came to you from the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, SC. After defying the odds on RAW and retaining his United States Title in an impromptu Fatal 4-Way Match against Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, & Wade Barrett, United States Champion Antonio Cesaro would go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston in a non-title, Champion vs. Champion Match.

Match Results

  • Champion vs. Champion: Kofi Kingston and Antonio Cesaro fight to a No Contest after Wade Barrett enters the ring.
  • Kofi Kingston & R-Truth def. Wade Barrett & Antonio Cesaro by R-Truth rolling up Antonio Cesaro following Trouble in Paradise by Kofi Kingston.

Detailed Results

Eleven nights before he defends the United States Title against R-Truth at WWE TLC, United States Champion Antonio Cesaro appears on WWE Main Event, saying that the United States has become full of “empty hopes and dreams”. Cesaro continues, saying that Americans would rather sit on their “fat butts” instead of working hard, but he works hard and it shows, proclaiming that it is the “United States of Antonio”!

Then it was time for the Champion vs. Champion Match as Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston would go one-on-one with United States Champion Antonio Cesaro in a non-title match, with the respective challengers, Wade Barrett and R-Truth, both guests on commentary. During the match, Kofi Kingston would be close to putting Antonio Cesaro away, but Wade Barrett would rush the ring and Kofi would catch Barrett on the way in, bringing the match to an inconclusive end. R-Truth would then get involved, sparking a brawl between the four men. After R-Truth and Kofi Kingston clear the ring of the two foreigners, Truth challenges Barrett and Cesaro to a tag team match, with Barrett and Cesaro agreeing!

Two weeks before their respective title matches at WWE TLC, Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston would team with his former tag team partner, R-Truth, to face “The Bareknuckle Brawler” Wade Barrett and United States Champion Antonio Cesaro. In the end, it was Kofi Kingston catching Antonio Cesaro with Trouble in Paradise, allowing R-Truth to catch Cesaro with the Sunset Flip, pinning the United States Champion for the win.
