WWE Main Event Results: November 14, 2012

    WWE Main Event

    Wwe Daniel Bryan Kane 290713

    Schooled Scholars.

The seventh edition of WWE Main Event came to you from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH. Four nights before they are on opposing teams in the Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match, Team Hell No would collide with Team Rhodes Scholars as, in a rematch from Hell in a Cell, Kane & Daniel Bryan would defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against the self-proclaimed intellectually superior team of Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow!

    Match Results

    • WWE Tag Team Championship: Team Hell No (c) def. Team Rhodes Scholars by Daniel Bryan (c) pinning Damien Sandow following the falling headbutt to retain.
    • Santino Marella def. David Otunga by pin following the Cobra Strike.

    Detailed Results

The show kicks off with Michael Cole & The Miz showing footage from RAW where the fifth and final member of Team Foley, The Miz, teamed with WWE Tag Team Champion Kane to defeat Team Rhodes Scholars, despite the attempts at sabotage by the other half of the tag champions, Daniel Bryan. Backstage, Josh Mathews interviews WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No as Daniel Bryan claims that he is the only reason that Kane and The Miz won on RAW, saying that Kane cannot survive without him. Kane argues that he almost didn’t win because of Bryan, saying that Bryan tried to sabotage him and The Miz. The arguing continues before Kane storms off, leaving Daniel Bryan vulnerable to a two-on-one attack by Team Rhodes Scholars as Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow blindside Bryan, dropping the tag champion mid-section first onto an anvil case!

Moments after assaulting Daniel Bryan in the backstage area, Team Rhodes Scholars were looking over their shoulders on their way to the ring as Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow were set to challenge Team Hell No, Kane and a weakened Daniel Bryan, for the WWE Tag Team Championship. During the match, Kane would try to drop Cody Rhodes with a right hand, but Rhodes would duck and Kane would inadvertently strike Bryan! This sparks a brief argument between the tag champions, but is quickly mended for the time being. Later on in the match, Cody Rhodes takes a run at Kane, but Kane counters, dropping Rhodes with a back body drop with Rhodes landing awkwardly on his head and right shoulder. After tagging out of the match, Cody Rhodes remains on the outside as WWE trainers talk to the injured Rhodes. Rhodes then slowly makes his way back on the ring apron, still struggling with his apparent shoulder injury. With his tag partner unable to continue the match, Damien Sandow would incur the wrath of Team Hell No as Kane drills Sandow with a chokeslam, which is followed up with the flying headbutt by Daniel Bryan en route to Kane & Daniel Bryan successfully retaining the WWE Tag Team Titles. After the match, Daniel Bryan is asked if he can co-exist with The Miz on Team Foley at Survivor Series and, while Kane urges his tag partner to say “yes”, Bryan would respond to Miz’s offer of a handshake by screaming “no”. However, Bryan would offer an alternative as the WWE Tag Team Champion looked to “hug it out” with The Miz, but Miz would refuse, walking away from Daniel Bryan!

Backstage, the captain of Team Ziggler, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Dolph Ziggler, is questioned about his teammates at Survivor Series. Dolph comments that his team will be “awesome”, citing that, on Team Foley, there are no two Superstars who can even get along with each other. Dolph then calls Team Foley the “worst team in Survivor Series history”, saying that The Miz will end up just like Mick Foley, a “big loser who doesn’t know when to quit.” Miz responds by saying that both he and Foley are former WWE Champions and have both main evented WrestleMania, asking Dolph Ziggler when was the last time that Dolph ever won the WWE Title or even main evented any pay-per-view! Dolph then questions Miz’s decision to serve as a commentator on Main Event before Survivor Series, calling Miz and Michael Cole a couple of “know-nothing know-it-alls” who “second-guess” everyone. Dolph continues that they have no right to judge him, proclaiming that he is “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank.” Miz then fires back, saying that Dolph acts like the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase makes Ziggler “legit” before saying that Dolph thinks that he can steal the show, but Dolph cannot even steal the World Heavyweight Title, calling Dolph Vickie Guerrero’s “puppet”. The argument then escalates to the point of Miz challenging Dolph Ziggler to a match on next week’s Main Event with Dolph accepting! Miz then proclaims that Team Ziggler will lose at Survivor Series and Dolph will lose to him next week!

In the main event of WWE Main Event, former United States Champion Santino Marella would go one-on-one with Harvard Law graduate David Otunga. In the end, it was Santino Marella hitting the Cobra Strike on David Otunga en route to picking up the win.
