WWE: CM Punk Strikes Fan During RAW!Posted on October 9, 2012 by Cassidy Wrestling NewsShare On: Tweet In a story that has really picked up a lot of momentum overnight, the Wrestling-Online Newsletter is reporting that, towards the end of last night’s RAW, WWE Champion CM Punk was leaving through the crowd and, after being shoved by one of the fans, Punk turned around and punched the fan. However, the fan that Punk punched was not the fan that shoved him as the fan that shoved him actually hid behind the guy who was struck. Punk broke the fan’s glasses and, after the show, the fan spoke to the local CBS news in Sacramento, but during the interview, police officers asked to speak to the fan and the fan ended up filing a report on the incident. A video of the incident has surfaced on YouTube. Usually, WWE security is right on top of these situations as they are hired to keep the fans away from the Superstars, but the video shows a severe lack of security in that part of the crowd. WWE has issued a statement to TMZ.com, apologizing for the lack of security, as well as CM Punk’s actions. The statement read, “WWE security was, unfortunately, not in the appropriate place at the time. Given CM Punk’s persona as a ‘bad guy’, fans were naturally heckling him, but unfortunately, a few fans began shoving and one struck him in the kidney and on the back. WWE regrets that proper security measures were not in place and CM Punk apologizes for reacting in the heat of the moment.” The fan who actually caused the entire incident by punching the WWE Champion in the first place took to Twitter to brag about his actions. The fan, Dario Teyes, commented, “I hit him [CM Punk], ran away, then ran back and stood next to him because I saw the cameras.” Dario referred to the fan who got hit over his actions, saying that the guy was “about to be a millionaire”. However, since the fan that was struck filed a police report, the Sacramento Police Department will be investigating the incident and, with his face on camera and the boasting on Twitter, Dario Teyes will more than likely have the cops knocking on his door, as well.
