WWE: Possible Top Sponsorship Loss for the WWE

WrestleScoop.com is reporting that a bill has passed in the House Appropriations Committee that will ban the U.S. Military from sponsoring sports events, including wrestling. This will definitely¬†jeopardize one of the WWE’s top sponsors, the National Guard, which has been a top sponsor for the WWE for several years. As of this report, WWE.com has removed the National Guard banner from their website, though a link to the Guard’s website still remains at the bottom of the homepage.

A similar bill failed to make it through the process last year and there is a chance that this bill may be shot down as the bill has to be passed by the House of Representatives before the Senate decides to enact the bill, making it a law.

What do you think of the government trying to stop the military from sponsoring sporting events? Post your comments in the box below.
