    Wwe John Cena 4

One night after a chaotic and controversial SummerSlam, the 951st edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA. After the first Undisputed WWE Champion, CM Punk, was crowned following a controversial call by COO and Special Referee Triple H, the new champion was attacked and laid out by a returning Kevin Nash, leaving Punk prone for Alberto Del Rio to cash in his Money-in-the-Bank title opportunity to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion, “The Mexican Aristocrat” would make his first defense against the Undisputed WWE Title against San Diego’s own “Master of the 619” Rey Mysterio.

    Match Results

    • Falls Count Anywhere Match: John Morrison def. R-Truth by pin on the outside of the ring after a running knee to the face.
    • Kelly Kelly & Eve def. The Bella Twins by Eve pinning one of The Bella Twins following the Evesault.
    • Jack Swagger (with Vickie Guerrero) def. Alex Riley by pin following the Swagger Bomb.
    • Non-Title: Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne def. David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty by Evan Bourne pinning Michael McGillicutty following Air Bourne.
    • Undisputed WWE Championship: Alberto Del Rio (c) def. Rey Mysterio by roll-up to retain.

    Detailed Results

One night after counting the pin for CM Punk despite John Cena’s foot being on the bottom rope, which allowed CM Punk to become the Undisputed WWE Champion moments before Kevin Nash made his surprise return, laying Punk out and allowing Alberto Del Rio to cash in to become the new champion, RAW kicks off with the Chief Operating Officer of the WWE, Triple H. The COO states that a lot of people are “upset” about how things went at SummerSlam before apologizing to the fans and to John Cena, admitting that he made a “mistake” in counting the pin despite Cena’s foot being on the rope during the Undisputed WWE Title match, adding that if he didn’t “screw it up”, either man could have won. Triple H then states that he had “no problem” in raising the hand of the then Undisputed WWE Champion, CM Punk. Triple H then tells everyone that, despite his longtime friendship with Kevin Nash, he had “no idea” Nash planned to get involved at SummerSlam as he left tickets to the event for Nash, but that was the last time he spoke to him. “The Game” then reveals that he has invited Kevin Nash to appear on RAW and Nash told him that, as long as Nash can tell the “truth”, then he will appear to explain his actions! Triple H then comments on Alberto Del Rio cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank contract to ultimately become the new Undisputed WWE Champion by saying that it is just how Money-in-the-Bank works. Triple H continues that, last week, he vowed that, after SummerSlam, they would have only “one” Undisputed WWE Champion and that is Alberto Del Rio.

Triple H then introduces the brand new WWE Champion as Alberto Del Rio makes his way to the ring to speak for the first time since winning the gold. The new champion states that he has been saying it for a long time, that it was his “destiny” to become the WWE Champion. Del Rio continues that he did not intend to cash in Money-in-the-Bank at SummerSlam, but “destiny” does whatever it wants and he “could not resist” cashing in at such an opportune time. Del Rio then proclaims that some people are just “born to be great” and he is the “greatest of the great”, adding that he wants to “represent” the fans with “honesty” and “passion”. Del Rio continues that he is going to be a champion for the fans, his “people” before reminding everyone that he will be making his first title defense against San Diego’s own Rey Mysterio, adding that they all “love” Rey Mysterio. Del Rio proclaims that he “loves” Rey Mysterio and he “loves beating” Mysterio, because he has made a career out of it, adding that he will beat the “little Chihuahua”, Rey Mysterio and after he beats Rey, the fans will have a “new hero” in Alberto Del Rio! In his first defense of the WWE Championship, can Alberto Del Rio retain against San Diego’s own Rey Mysterio or will “The Master of the 619” regain the WWE Title?

After losing to R-Truth on last week’s RAW, the opening match of the night saw “The Prince of Parkour” John Morrison going one-on-one with the man who put him out of action on two separate occasions, R-Truth, in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. At the end of a unique match that spent minimal time in the ring, it was John Morrison suplexing R-Truth into a commentator chair before delivering a vicious running knee to the face of Truth that led to Morrison picking up the win on the outside of the ring.

One night after taking part in a 6-Man Tag Match at SummerSlam, former WWE Champion The Miz makes an appearance on RAW as Miz reveals that he has been asked to come out there to say hello to a guest in the crowd, “The Subway Guy” Jared Fogle. The ever confident Miz then tells Jared that he can do a better job as a Subway pitchman than Jared. Miz then proclaims that the only reason that “oven crisp chicken sandwich” is “trending” is because of him. Miz continues that he is a “star” before proclaiming that he will be a champion again.

One night after surprising Beth Phoenix with a roll-up to retain the Divas Title at SummerSlam, Divas Champion Kelly Kelly teamed with her best friend, Eve to face The Bella Twins in Divas tag action. In the end, it was Eve hitting the Evesault on one of The Bella Twins en route to picking up the win for herself and the Divas Champion. After the match, the celebration was short-lived for the best friends as the Divas of Doom, Natalya & Beth Phoenix come out, sarcastically applauding Eve & Kelly Kelly’s victory.

One night after shocking the world by coming through the crowd and delivering the Jackknife Powerbomb to CM Punk, costing Punk the WWE Title, the six-time World Champion Kevin Nash appeared on RAW to explain his actions. Nash starts by thanking Triple H for allowing him to come to RAW, reminding everyone that Triple H has been his friend for almost twenty years and is also the Godfather of his son. Nash continues that he was watching SummerSlam when he got a text before revealing that the text asked him to “stick the winner” of the main event, regardless of who was the champion! Nash continues that he “missed” being in the ring, but what he did at SummerSlam was “business”, adding that he and Triple H need to get on the “same page”.

Kevin Nash was then ready to leave the ring, but before he could do so, Nash was interrupted by the man he was told to lay out at SummerSlam, the former WWE Champion CM Punk. Punk calls what Nash said a “load of crap”, before asking Nash that, if Triple H told Nash to “jump off a bridge”, then would Nash do it, adding that he thinks Nash jumping off a bridge would be “good for business”. Punk continues that neither Triple H nor Kevin Nash has any idea what is “good for business” and Nash replies by telling Punk to “watch your mouth”. Punk responds by telling Nash to “watch the show” because he says whatever he wants to whoever he wants and Nash replies by telling Punk that his “world just changed”. Punk then says that Nash’s story points to Triple H being a “liar”, adding that maybe Triple H is telling the truth and Nash is the “liar”. Nash then asks Punk if he wants to see the text that was sent to him and Punk responds by reading a text that Punk’s little sister sent to him last night that read, “OMG, Kevin Nash, WTF, thought he was dead, lol”. Punk continues that Nash is “alive” and in person, but its Nash’s “career that’s dead”.

CM Punk continues that he is “pissed off” at a lot of people, but he is not pissed off at Alberto Del Rio, because he has done what Del Rio did. Punk then states that, since Triple H is the COO now, he is bringing back his “old cronies”. Nash argues that, all Triple H has done has “shook things up”, but Punk argues that he is the one who “shook things up”. Nash then calls Punk an “indy-riffic little wannabe” who has been in the WWE for five years and only made “two main events”. Punk challenges Nash’s knowledge of main eventers, revealing that Nash called the late, great Eddie Guerrero a “vanilla midget”, adding that it is 2011, not 1994. Nash then tells Punk to “go to 1996” when he “changed the business” with Scott Hall, making sure that everybody, including Punk, got “guaranteed money”, adding Punk should be saying “thank you, Mr. Nash”. Nash then says that, if this is where the business is, where a guy who “looks like a short order cook from a Waffle House is the champion”, telling Punk to “take a shower, hit the weights, get a clue”!

CM Punk responds by saying that he would rather walk into the WWE as CM Punk and leave as CM Punk, then show up somewhere as Oz or Vinnie Vegas or “Big Daddy Cool” Diesel. Punk then states that it is enough with the “snarky comments” and, if Nash wants to fight, then they can fight! Punk then makes his way to the ring, but is stopped by a line of security guards. Punk states that he is “not surprised” that WWE COO Triple H made Nash “untouchable” by sending a security team out there to keep him from kicking Nash’s “ass”! Punk then states that, if everyone is watching Nash’s back, then no one is watching Triple H’s back before Punk says that he is going to get answers from the COO himself!

Backstage, Kevin Nash heads into the office of his friend and WWE COO Triple H, but while Nash did not find Triple H, he was confronted by the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis. The EVP tells Nash that Triple H is in a meeting with CM Punk before saying that the way Punk spoke to him at SummerSlam and the way he spoke to Nash were “totally unacceptable”. Laurinaitis then invites Nash to talk with him in his office about “something important” before both men head to the EVP’s office. What is this important business that John Laurinaitis has to discuss with Kevin Nash?

With United States Champion Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero arguing with each other on commentary, Alex Riley was in action on RAW as “A-Ry” went one-on-one with “The All-American American” Jack Swagger. During the match, Vickie Guerrero left the announce table, but not before taking Jim Ross’ cowboy hat, as Vickie used the hat to distract the referee, putting the hat on the referee. These antics distracted the referee and Alex Riley, allowing Jack Swagger to take advantage, hitting the Swagger Bomb on Riley en route to picking up the win. After the match, Dolph Ziggler would smash the cowboy hat before handing it back to J.R.

Moments after Vickie Guerrero aided in his win over Alex Riley, Jack Swagger confronts Vickie Guerrero backstage, thanking Vickie for helping him out. Swagger then states that Vickie does not have to “prove anything” to Dolph Ziggler because Vickie has managed former WWE and World Heavyweight Champions, adding that Edge was “nothing” before he met Vickie and Dolph would be “nothing” if it wasn’t for Vickie. Swagger continues that Vickie “looks great” and is a “great manager”, stating that great managers of the past, such as Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and “Classy” Freddie Blassie all had “multiple clientele” before Swagger advises Vickie to think about “expanding” her “roster”. Will Vickie Guerrero take Jack Swagger’s advice and manage more than one Superstar at a time?

Backstage, CM Punk enters Triple H’s office, but is disappointed to find Triple H’s wife, Stephanie McMahon as Stephanie tells Punk that she really is “sorry” for how Punk lost the WWE Title at SummerSlam, adding that “technically”, Punk did not win because John Cena’s foot was on the rope. Stephanie then tells Punk not to worry because everyone “gets what they deserve” before making her exit.

The WWE Tag Team Champions were in action on RAW as David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty faced the team of Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne in a non-title match. In the end, it was Kofi Kingston hitting Trouble in Paradise on Michael McGillicutty, allowing Evan Bourne to hit Air Bourne en route to Bourne & Kofi defeating the WWE Tag Team Champions.

Then it was time for the main event as, one night after cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank briefcase to ultimately win the Undisputed WWE Title from CM Punk, the brand new Undisputed WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio made his first title defense against San Diego’s own “Master of the 619” Rey Mysterio. In the end, Rey Mysterio looked close to regaining the WWE Title as Rey hits the 619 on Alberto Del Rio, but when Rey went for the splash from the top rope, Del Rio got his knees up, driving them into the mid-section of Rey before rolling Mysterio up to pick up the win and successfully retain the Undisputed WWE Title. After the match, Alberto Del Rio was determined to injure Rey Mysterio in front of his hometown crowd as the Undisputed WWE Champion wrenched Rey’s arm over the bottom rope before slamming Rey’s arm on the announce table. Del Rio then rolls Mysterio back into the ring, locking in the cross armbreaker on Mysterio, but luckily for Rey, John Cena rushes out and attacks Del Rio, forcing a hasty retreat for the champion.

John Cena tells Alberto Del Rio that he has got “a lot of reasons to be pissed off” and, he could be pissed off at Triple H, but he’s not. Cena then states that he is pissed off at Alberto Del Rio because, after he and Punk left everything in the ring during their Undisputed WWE Title match at SummerSlam in an attempt to give “integrity” to the WWE Championship, Del Rio goes into business for himself and walks around like a “champion”. Cena then shouts that Del Rio is “not a champion”, he is a “target” and the “golden destiny” that is the WWE Title makes “everyone” his “enemy”. Cena continues that CM Punk “deserved to be champion”, but Del Rio “cashed in a briefcase and got lucky”, adding that Del Rio will not be “so lucky” if he ever defends the title against Cena and Del Rio’s “destiny” is John Cena “whipping” his “ass”! After a successful defense of the WWE Title against Rey Mysterio, new champion Alberto Del Rio now has to keep an eye on a potential new #1 Contender in John Cena. Will John Cena get his shot at Alberto Del Rio and the WWE Championship? What will happen on next week’s RAW as the controversial saga involving Triple H, Kevin Nash, and CM Punk continues? Will next week bring answers or simply more questions?
