After revealing, via Twitter, on August 1 that she requested her release from the WWE, former Women’s Champion Gail Kim has revealed, also via her Twitter account (@GailKimItsMe), that the WWE has denied her request for release and are instead forcing Gail Kim to stay with the company until her contract expires. The following is what Gail Kim posted on Twitter in regards to the situation:
This is the current situation 4 every1 who’s asking: I quit last mon. And apparently after a total of 5 yrs of working for a co. where I was not utilized or appreciated,I’m now 4 some reason, valuable enough 2 keep me under the remainder of my contract so I can’t work elsewhere. Controlling? Thoughts?
After a Twitter follower called Gail Kim’s decision to eliminate herself from the Divas Battle Royal on RAW last week “stupid”, the former Women’s Champion posted the following in response:
So stupid that no1 noticed and mr “yes” man laughed when I told him. That’s how much they cared.
The a fore mentioned “Mr. Yes Man” is presumed to be the EVP of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis. It is currently unknown exactly when Gail Kim’s WWE contract does expire and it is also unknown whether Gail will be forced to work on TV or if she will just be sitting out the remainder of her contract.
