WWE Monday Night RAW April 4, 2011 Results

    By Cassidy
    | April 5, 2011
    WWE Raw

One night after a stunning, controversial, and unforgettable WrestleMania, the fallout from the biggest event of the year would be felt on RAW as the 932nd edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the Philips Arena in the home of WrestleMania XXVII in Atlanta, GA! One night after electrifying WrestleMania where the host of the event would cost John Cena the WWE Title by delivering the Rock Bottom to the challenger, “The Most Electrifying Man in Showbiz Today” The Rock would appear on RAW as John Cena would call out “The Brahma Bull”! One night after taking The Undertaker beyond the limits of “The Phenom” in a No Holds Barred Match, but ultimately could not avoid submitting to Hell’s Gate as The Undertaker went 19-0 at WrestleMania, “The Game” Triple H would kick off RAW! Also, in a match originally scheduled to take place at WrestleMania, Sheamus would make his first defense of the United States Title as the new champion would defend the United States Title against former champion Daniel Bryan!

    Match Results

    • Jerry “The King” Lawler def. Jack Swagger (with Michael Cole) by DQ after the referee reversed his decision due to Jack Swagger refusing to release the ankle lock after the match.
    • Randy Orton & Rey Mysterio def. CM Punk & Cody Rhodes by Randy Orton pinning Cody Rhodes following the RKO.
    • Alberto Del Rio def. Evan Bourne by submission to the cross armbreaker.
    • Mixed Tag Match: John Morrison & Trish Stratus def. Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero by John Morrison pinning Dolph Ziggler following Starship Pain.
    • United States Championship: Sheamus (c) def. Daniel Bryan by pin following the Brogue Kick to retain.

    Detailed Results

With the Hall of Fame announce team of Jim Ross & Jerry “The King” Lawler reunited, the show kicks off in a big way as, one night after taking The Undertaker to the limit and beyond in their epic No Holds Barred match only to ultimately be forced into submission with Hell’s Gate en route to The Undertaker going 19-0 at WrestleMania, RAW kicks off with “The Game” himself, Triple H! Triple H states that he is the most “tired and beat-up” he has ever been following his WrestleMania match before Triple H reveals that, with over 71,000 fans at WrestleMania, the sound of The Undertaker’s gong made him more “nervous” than he has ever been! Triple H states that he “hit” The Undertaker “harder” than anyone he has ever faced, but Undertaker just kept fighting back before stating that both he and Undertaker left “everything” they had in the ring at WrestleMania and, for him, it apparently was “not good enough”! Triple H continues that you can call The Undertaker “The Phenom” or “The Deadman” or anything else, but what he saw getting hauled out on a stretcher at WrestleMania was a “man”! Triple H then reveals that a lot of people think that WrestleMania was “it” for The Undertaker and that he is “done” and he won’t be “back”! Triple H continues that he is not “buying it”, but he wanted to come out and say one thing to The Undertaker and that is “thank you”! Triple H states that The Undertaker gave him the match of his “life” before vowing that The Undertaker will be “back” and, when The Undertaker returns, he will be “waiting”! Will The Undertaker ever return to the WWE after having to be carted out on a stretcher at WrestleMania? What does the future hold for Triple H?

As Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler discuss Lawler’s night at WrestleMania where, despite forcing Michael Cole to tap out, the anonymous General Manager of RAW reversed the decision of the match to give Cole the win via disqualification due to apparent biased by Special Referee Stone Cold Steve Austin, but the Hall of Fame announce team is interrupted by Michael Cole as, in his ring gear, Cole states that, despite “overwhelming odds”, he made “history” at WrestleMania as “Team Cole” emerged victorious! Cole continues that, when WrestleMania was over, the world was “talking about Michael Cole” because he “stole the show” and is now “undefeated at WrestleMania” with a record of 1-0 before proclaiming that, with Shawn Michaels a member of the Hall of Fame, he will be referred to as the “new Mr. WrestleMania”!

Jerry “The King” Lawler then interrupts Michael Cole’s gloating and reminds Cole that he made Cole tap out at WrestleMania and that Cole did not beat him, a “stupid computer” did! Lawler then states that Cole may go down in the record books with a win at WrestleMania, but Cole will forever be known as a “worthless jackass”! Cole responds by saying that Lawler “could not” beat him at WrestleMania because Stone Cold Steve Austin “man-handled” him and Lawler “took advantage”! Cole then tells Lawler to “admit” that he is “a better athlete and a better man” before challenging Lawler to a “rematch” on RAW and telling Cole to “prove” to the world that he is still “The King”! Jerry Lawler wastes no time in accepting the rematch before Lawler would enter the ring, but Michael Cole would state that he is not talking about a rematch from WrestleMania, he is talking about a rematch from last week’s RAW where Jerry Lawler went one-on-one with Cole’s trainer, Jack Swagger!

After being suckered into a rematch from last week’s RAW with Michael Cole’s trainer, Jack Swagger, Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler would go one-on-one with “The All-American American” Jack Swagger, with Michael Cole in his corner! During the match, Jerry Lawler would set up for the legendary fist drop of “The King”, but Michael Cole would get on the apron of the ring and Lawler would chase Cole, but, as soon as Lawler got his hands on Cole, Jack Swagger would catch Lawler with the ankle lock, forcing the Hall of Famer to tap out to pick up the win! After the match, the referee would try and get Jack Swagger to relinquish the hold on Jerry Lawler, but when Swagger continued to ignore the referee, the referee would reverse his decision and award the match to Jerry Lawler via disqualification!

After this ruling, Michael Cole would shout at Jim Ross at ringside before heading into his “Cole Mine”, but after finding a bottle of J.R.’s barbecue sauce on his desk in the “Cole Mine”, Cole would exit his protective cage and squirt the barbecue sauce all over the Hall of Famer! Jim Ross would then throw his headset at Cole before getting up from his seat and backing Michael Cole up as Cole would eventually flee to the backstage area as J.R. continued to pursue Cole!

Proud of his actions, Michael Cole would take his spot in his “Cole Mine” as the victims of two Stone Cold Stunners at WrestleMania, Josh Mathews and Booker T would call the action from the announce position!

One night after squaring off in respective one-on-one matches at WrestleMania, “The Viper” Randy Orton would team with “The Ultimate Underdog” Rey Mysterio to face their WrestleMania opponents, “The Straightedge Savior” CM Punk & Cody Rhodes in tag team action! At the end of a chaotic and hard-fought match, it was Rey Mysterio hitting the 619 on Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton following it up with the RKO on Rhodes en route to picking up the win for himself and Mysterio!

Just prior to his appearance on RAW to introduce the contestants of WWE Tough Enough, the host of Tough Enough, Stone Cold Steve Austin, is confronted by Triple H backstage! Austin tells “The Game” that, if Triple H ever faces The Undertaker again, then he will “be there” before shaking the hand of Triple H and telling Triple H that it was a “hell of a match”!

One night after having his decision reversed by the anonymous General Manager of RAW as the Special Referee in the match between Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler before delivering Stunners to both Booker T and Josh Mathews, Hall of Famer and the host of WWE Tough Enough Stone Cold Steve Austin would appear on RAW to introduce the Tough Enough contestants before Tough Enough premieres immediately following RAW! Stone Cold Steve Austin calls the fourteen contestants to the ring! Stone Cold then states that he is going to allow the fourteen participants to introduce themselves! First up was Ryan Howe from Louisville, KY, who states that he’s a “rock and roller”, but he wants to be a “wrestler”, followed by Christina Crawford, who dubs herself a “future WWE Diva”! Andy Deavine from Tampa, FL then introduces himself followed by A.J. Kirsch who states that being a Superstar is what he was “born to do” and Ariana Andrew, who proclaims herself the “next WWE Diva”! Luke Robinson from Auburn, MA dubs himself a “future legend” before Jeremiah Riggs from Vicksburg, MS states that he’s always “representing the Dirty South”! The 2010 “Miss USA” Rima Fikah from Dearborn, MI then introduces herself before Mickael Zacki introduces himself and states that there is no one “tougher” than him! Ivelisse Velez from Puerto Rico then introduces herself and vows to give the WWE the “best entertainment” they have ever seen before Eric Watts from Southern California introduces himself! Matt Capiccioni from Cleveland, OH introduces himself next followed by Michelle Deighton from North Carolina who proclaims that she is “definitely good-looking enough to be a Diva” followed lastly by Martin Casaus from Salt Lake City, UT who states that he “can not wait” to compete in front of the WWE fans!

After the introduction of the fourteen Tough Enough contestants, Stone Cold Steve Austin is interrupted by WWE Champion The Miz and Alex Riley as The Miz states that he is an example of the success one can achieve after competing in Tough Enough in 2004 before calling his win at WrestleMania an example of “valor and determination”! Miz continues that he suffered a concussion at WrestleMania that would “end most men’s careers”, but he went on to retain the WWE Title! The Miz would then make his way to the ring as he proclaims that he is the “new face of the WWE” before entering the ring and calling Eric Watts “Buckwheat” before telling all fourteen Tough Enough contestants that they should take a good look because that is as “close” as any of them will get to the WWE Title!

The Miz would then turn his attention to Stone Cold Steve Austin and asks Austin if he wants to hold his WWE Title before asking Austin if he thinks he has “one more run” and if Austin thinks he is “tough enough”! Miz then asks Austin if they should “clear the ring” and “find out” if Austin can have “one more match”! Austin replies to this by telling the Tough Enough contestants to “clear the ring”! As soon as Austin turns his attention away from The Miz, Alex Riley would attack the Hall of Famer while The Miz makes a quick exit, but Austin would fight back as the Tough Enough host would pummel Riley and actually break out the Lou Thesz Press and elbow drop before delivering an emphatic Stone Cold Stunner to Alex Riley! Austin would then celebrate as the Hall of Famer would give Steveweisers to all fourteen Tough Enough contestants and have a beer bash with the hopefuls before heading to the outside of the ring where Austin would dump beer into the “Cole Mine” and all over Michael Cole before making his exit with the Tough Enough contestants!

One night after failing to win the World Heavyweight Title from Edge at WrestleMania and having one of his $100,000 cars vandalized by Edge & Christian, “The Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio, without one of his expensive cars and with Brodus Clay in his corner, would go one-on-one with Evan Bourne! In the end, Evan Bourne would be looking to hit Air Bourne on Alberto Del Rio, but Del Rio would hit an enziguiri on Bourne and would follow it up with the cross armbreaker, forcing Bourne to tap out to pick up the win! After failing to win the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania, what is next for Alberto Del Rio?

One night after the team of Snooki, Trish Stratus, & John Morrison defeated LayCool & Dolph Ziggler in a 6-Person Mixed Tag Match, Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero would appear on RAW as Vickie would blame the WrestleMania loss on LayCool before Dolph Ziggler calls Snooki the most “talented” part of John Morrison’s team and challenges John Morrison & Trish Stratus to face him and Vickie in a Mixed Tag Match! In the end, it was John Morrison hitting Starship Pain on Dolph Ziggler en route to picking up the win for himself and Trish Stratus!

One night after a Lumberjack Match for the United States Title just prior to WrestleMania turned into chaos and was turned into a Battle Royal won by The Great Khali, the rematch would take place on RAW as Sheamus would defend the United States Title against former champion Daniel Bryan! In the end, it was Sheamus blasting Daniel Bryan with the Brogue Kick en route to successfully retaining the United States Title! After the match, Sheamus would look to deal out more punishment on Daniel Bryan, but the attack would be brought to a halt with the arrival of the much-talked about global sensation, Sin Cara! Cara would literally dive into the ring and send the United States Champion to the outside where Sin Cara would soar off the top rope with an awe-inspiring high cross body on Sheamus on the outside! Why has Sin Cara targeted Sheamus in his WWE debut? How will Sheamus respond to the actions of this newcomer?

One night after being cost the WWE Title by WrestleMania Host The Rock at WrestleMania, John Cena would appear on RAW to call out “The Most Electrifying Man in Showbiz Today” The Rock! Cena states that he had a feeling that The Rock was going to get physically involved at WrestleMania, but did not expect it to be in the WWE Title match! Cena continues that, had The Rock not come out, then WrestleMania would have ended with a Draw conclusion to the WWE Title match! Cena then states that he will not “complain” before telling The Miz “congratulations” for retaining the WWE Title at WrestleMania! Cena continues that Miz is the “most annoying person on the face of the planet” and he “hopes” that he “never” gets the chance to face The Miz again and, after The Miz’s showing, he deserves his and the fans “respect”!

John Cena then states that he has clearly not “earned the respect” of The Rock and states that The Rock was supposed to be the WrestleMania Host, but very quickly became involved in his “business”, which means that he and The Rock have some “business” of their own to “settle right now”! The one and only “Most Electrifying Man in Showbiz Today” The Rock then comes to the ring to go face-to-face with John Cena! The Rock asks John Cena what he “thought” was going to happen before saying that “talking trash” is what The Rock before saying that he “respects” Cena! Rock continues that he knows that Cena “lives and breathes” the WWE and that is why Cena is one of the “greatest” WWE Superstars and WWE Champions of “all time”, but that does not change the fact that he does “not like” Cena! The Rock continues that, for all their differences, they have one thing in common that they both want to do the “best” they can!

John Cena then states that the “time for talk is over” and people are standing because they want a “match”! Cena continues that they want a match where “generations collide” and the people want to see John Cena Vs. The Rock! Cena then asks The Rock is he wants to “talk about it” or if The Rock wants to “bring it”! John Cena then prepares himself for a fight as The Rock tells Cena that Cena has “no idea” what he just asked for by asking The Rock to “bring it” before The Rock proclaims that he will “bring it” before proposing that they have the “biggest match of all time” in one year at WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami! The Rock would then extend his hand to John Cena in search of an answer to the challenge and Cena would shake the hand of The Rock to make the match official as, for the first time in history, the main event of WrestleMania was set a year ahead of time as, on April 1, 2012 in Miami, John Cena will go one-on-one with The Rock!

After their blockbuster match was made for next year’s WrestleMania, John Cena and The Rock would find themselves surrounded as the four members of The Corre would come out as Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, and WWE Tag Team Champions Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel would surround the ring before all four men would enter the ring and attack John Cena and The Rock! The four-on-two odds would overpower John Cena and The Rock at first, but Rock and Cena would fight back as Cena would plant Heath Slater before hitting the Five Knuckle Shuffle on the WWE Tag Team Champion! Not to be outdone, The Rock would hit a spinebuster on Wade Barrett before hitting the People’s Elbow on the Intercontinental Champion! Cena would then deliver the Attitude Adjustment to Heath Slater before The Rock would plant Wade Barrett with the Rock Bottom! The Rock and John Cena would then shake hands again before telling Cena that he will see him at WrestleMania! In an unprecedented WrestleMania main event, John Cena will go one-on-one with The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami on April 1, 2012! What will happen between now and then between John Cena and The Rock?

Are you serious?! We have to wait a frickin year for John Cena and The Rock to collide! So for the next few months we have to listen to the talk talk talk…

Give the fans a break John and wipe your ass with this 7 year I’m gonna make bad Disney or any film making jokester! God I wish Stone Cold or even Triple H would have shut The Rock up! Just about done with wrestling all together.

Well that was a totally pointless RAW. Did Wrestlemania not settle a single story line? Cole still an ass screwing over Lawler. Not only that, they mess up J.R. announcing. I mean, we can’t have ONE night w/o Cole? CM Punk and Orton are still fighting. Cena and the Rock are still fighting. WTH was the purpose of Wrestlemania exactly if every single storyline is going to continue? Not only that, they make the Miz look like a complete joke yet again. He makes one appearance and it’s to help hype Tough Enough? Really? The champ should be on ALL… Read more »
