2011 WWE Draft Edition of RAW April 25, 2011 Results

    By Cassidy
    | April 25, 2011
    WWE Raw

Six nights before Extreme Rules, the 935th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the RBC Center at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. On an earth-shaking Monday night, history would be made as we would see both RAW and SmackDown shaken to their core as RAW would feature the 2011 WWE Draft where the Superstars of RAW and SmackDown would battle to earn draft picks for their respective brands with absolutely everyone on either roster eligible to be drafted!

    Match Results

    • RAW Vs. SmackDown 20-Man Team Battle Royal: First Draft Pick: Big Show & Kofi Kingston win to earn the first draft pick for SmackDown.
    • RAW Vs. SmackDown: Second Draft Pick: Eve (with Michelle McCool) def. Layla by roll-up to earn the second draft pick for RAW.
    • RAW Vs. SmackDown: Non-Title: Third Draft Pick: Kofi Kingston def. Sheamus by pin following Trouble in Paradise to earn the third draft pick for SmackDown.
    • Jim Ross (with Jerry “The King” Lawler) def. Sir Michael Cole (with Jack Swagger) by DQ after Jack Swagger interferes.
    • RAW Vs. SmackDown: Fourth & Fifth Draft Picks: Randy Orton def. Dolph Ziggler (with Vickie Guerrero) by pin following the RKO to earn two draft picks for SmackDown.
    • RAW Vs. SmackDown: Non-Title: Sixth & Seventh Draft Picks: Rey Mysterio def. Wade Barrett by pin following the 619 and Splash to earn two draft picks for RAW.
    • RAW Vs. SmackDown: 6-Man Tag: Final Draft Pick: The Miz, Alberto Del Rio, & CM Punk (with Mark Henry) def. John Cena, Christian, & Mark Henry by The Miz pinning John Cena following the Skull Crushing Finale to earn the final draft pick for RAW.

    Detailed Results

The special 2011 WWE Draft edition of RAW kicks off abruptly as a 20-Man Battle Royal between RAW and SmackDown is already underway with the winner earning the first draft pick for their brand as new WWE Tag Team Champions Kane & Big Show, Corre members Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, and Ezekiel Jackson, United States Champion Sheamus, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre, Brodus Clay, New Nexus member Mason Ryan, Chris Masters, Mark Henry, Ted DiBiase, Santino Marella, Vladimir Kozlov, Daniel Bryan, Evan Bourne, Yoshi Tatsu, & The Great Khali would all battle for their brands! RAW would be the first to score a major elimination as Sheamus, Mason Ryan, Daniel Bryan, Evan Bourne, Ted DiBiase, Vladimir Kozlov, & The Great Khali would all work together to eliminate one-half of the new WWE Tag Team Champions, Kane! However, SmackDown would not be outdone as Big Show, Heath Slater, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, Brodus Clay, Chris Masters, & Kofi Kingston would all work together to eliminate The Great Khali!

The next Superstar to be eliminated from the Battle Royal would be Vladimir Kozlov as Cody Rhodes and Chris Masters would eliminate “The Moscow Mauler”, followed shortly by Evan Bourne enlisting the help of Mark Henry to eliminate Corre member Ezekiel Jackson! Mark Henry and Ted DiBiase would then eliminate Corre member Heath Slater from the match, followed by Mark Henry eliminating Chris Masters and Ted DiBiase eliminating Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett! Kofi Kingston would then eliminate Ted DiBiase from the match, followed by Mark Henry and Brodus Clay eliminating each other! Big Show would then eliminate Yoshi Tatsu, followed by Drew McIntyre eliminating United States Champion Sheamus! Evan Bourne would then eliminate Drew McIntyre, leaving RAW with four Superstars and SmackDown with three! Big Show would then eliminate Santino Marella, followed by New Nexus member Mason Ryan eliminating Cody Rhodes and Kofi Kingston eliminating Daniel Bryan!

It was then down to the final four as new WWE Tag Team Champion Big Show and Kofi Kingston from SmackDown would be left to face Evan Bourne and New Nexus member Mason Ryan from RAW with the first draft pick on the line! Big Show would then eliminate Evan Bourne before Kofi Kingston would assist Big Show in eliminating Mason Ryan to earn SmackDown the win in the 20-Man Battle Royal and the first draft pick of the night! The first draft pick of the night would be a monumental one as, after six historic years as part of RAW, seven-time WWE Champion John Cena would be heading back to where his illustrious career began as one of RAW’s biggest Superstars would be heading to Friday Night SmackDown!

One week after a vicious assault on John Morrison moments after losing his spot in the Triple Threat Steel Cage Match for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules, R-Truth would make an appearance on RAW as Truth would state that he lost to Morrison last week because of the fans and him trying to please the fans for his entire career and try to be what they “wanted” him to be and it did not get him “diddly squat”! Truth continues by saying that the fans need to get some “rhythm” and that fans singing “what’s up” has not gotten him any “titles” and, for ten years, he “chose” the fans and, now, he is “officially” giving the fans the “boot”! Truth continues that it felt “marvelous” to turn on the fans last week and, for the first time in his career, the “truth” has “set” him “free”!

After hearing his poignant comments and, following the assault on him last week, John Morrison would attack R-Truth from behind as Morrison would pummel Truth on the entrance way as referees would scramble and struggle before finally pulling Morrison off of R-Truth!

RAW would feature another disturbing and uncomfortable vignette featuring the large, demented woman snapping the head off of a blonde doll before the word “harm” would appear before revealing the mystery woman’s name to be “Kharma”! What will happen when Kharma arrives in the WWE?

The Divas would then compete for the second draft pick of the night as RAW Diva Eve would go one-on-one with SmackDown Diva Layla, with her estranged best friend Michelle McCool at ringside! During the match and, with Michael Cole talking over the whole thing, Michelle McCool would distract Layla long enough to allow Eve to roll Layla up for the win, earning RAW a draft pick! After Michael Cole announced that he had left the announce the position to prepare for his match against Jim Ross later on, a fight would break out at ringside as Michelle McCool would confront Layla and Layla would attack her best friend, sending McCool into the ringside barricade before slamming her head repeatedly into the wall! Layla would then scream that she is “sick” of it before hurling McCool over the announce table! After the emotional brawl, the draft pick would be revealed for RAW as, in a major acquisition, a two-time World Heavyweight Champion would be drafted to RAW as “The Ultimate Underdog” Rey Mysterio is now a part of Monday Night RAW!

Then it was time to find out which brand would earn the third draft pick as RAW’s United States Champion Sheamus would go one-on-one with SmackDown’s former Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston in a non-title match! In the end, it was Kofi Kingston catching Sheamus with not one, but two Trouble in Paradise kicks to earn SmackDown the third draft pick of the night! After the monumental announcement that John Cena would be joining SmackDown, Friday Nights would score another epic draft pick as a six-time WWE Champion would be drafted as “The Viper” Randy Orton would be drafted to SmackDown!

One week after being forced to kiss the disgusting and diseased foot of the self-proclaimed Sir Michael Cole, Hall of Famer Jim Ross would be looking for a measure of revenge as “Good Ol’ J.R.”, with Jerry “The King” Lawler in his corner, would go one-on-one with Sir Michael Cole, with Jack Swagger in his corner, on RAW! After much primping and procrastinating, the match would finally and truly get underway as Michael Cole would go for a slam on Jim Ross, but J.R. would shift his weight and take Cole down instead before J.R. would pummel Cole with right hands until Cole would escape from the ring! Jerry Lawler would then get his hands on Cole and throw Cole back into the ring, but Jack Swagger would send “The King” into the steel ring post, taking Lawler out of the equation before Swagger would rush the ring and attack J.R. before locking in the ankle lock on the Hall of Famer as a bloodied Michael Cole barks orders for Swagger! With Swagger holding J.R. in the ankle lock, Cole would repeatedly waylay J.R. with a leather belt before “The King” would re-enter the ring and send Swagger out of the ring, allowing Lawler to get in some belt shots of his own on Cole! Michael Cole and Jack Swagger would then make a quick exit from the ring as the anonymous General Manager of RAW would chime in with an email that announces that the tag team match between Jim Ross & Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole & Jack Swagger will now be a Country Whoopin’ Match! What will happen this Sunday at Extreme Rules when these two teams finally face off in a Country Whoopin’ Match?

Moments after being drafted to SmackDown, SmackDown’s newest acquisition “The Viper” Randy Orton would go one-on-one with RAW’s Dolph Ziggler with not one, but two draft picks on the line for the winning brand! Despite interference from Vickie Guerrero, it would be Randy Orton planting Dolph Ziggler with the RKO to earn two draft picks for SmackDown, but before the two picks can be revealed, CM Punk comes out and vows to leave Orton a “former shell” of what he “used to be” this Sunday night at Extreme Rules! Randy Orton would respond by saying that he will not miss CM Punk’s “ramblings” and, this Sunday, Punk will be left “unconscious” because he will be the “last man standing”! Who will be the last man standing when Randy Orton goes one-on-one with CM Punk in a Last Man Standing Match this Sunday at Extreme Rules?

It was then time to reveal the two draft picks that Randy Orton earned for SmackDown as “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry and the international high-flying sensation Sin Cara will be heading to Friday Nights!

Two more draft picks would then be on the line as SmackDown’s Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett would go one-on-one with the newest Superstar to join Monday Night RAW in “The Ultimate Underdog” Rey Mysterio in a non-title match! In the end, it was Rey Mysterio hitting the 619 on Wade Barrett and following it up with a splash to earn two draft picks for RAW! The first of the two picks would be literally the biggest pick by size as RAW would gain one-half of the new WWE Tag Team Champions in “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show! The second of the dual picks would then be revealed to be none other than one of the #1 Contenders for the vacant World Heavyweight Title in “The Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio!

After a stellar night of draft picks for SmackDown, the General Manager of SmackDown Theodore Long would make an appearance on RAW to introduce the main event as WWE Champion The Miz would team with “The Straightedge Savior” CM Punk and RAW’s newest acquisition Alberto Del Rio to face “Captain Charisma” Christian, “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry, and one of SmackDown’s newest Superstars, John Cena in a 6-Man Tag Match with the final draft pick on the line! During the match, John Cena would look to have things in control against The Miz, but for some unknown reason, Cena’s own teammate, Mark Henry, would level Cena with a clothesline before sending Christian face-first into the steel steps on the outside of the ring before leaving his teammates! The Miz would then take advantage of this betrayal by planting John Cena with the Skull Crushing Finale en route to earning the final draft pick for RAW! The final draft pick would then be revealed to be the same as the first draft pick of the night as John Cena would be drafted back to RAW after being drafted to SmackDown earlier in the night! Cena would then celebrate this news by attacking WWE Champion The Miz as Cena would hit the five knuckle shuffle on Miz before sending the WWE Champion over the top rope onto Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk! How will these major shakeups to RAW and SmackDown affect Extreme Rules this Sunday?
