WWE Monday Night RAW April 18, 2011 Results

    By Cassidy
    | April 19, 2011
    WWE Raw

The 934th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you from the O2 Arena in London, England. One week after The New Nexus made their return and cost him his shot at being the #1 Contender for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules, Randy Orton would be looking for revenge as “The Viper” would go one-on-one with the leader of The New Nexus, CM Punk in a WrestleMania Rematch with The New Nexus banned from ringside!

    Match Results

    • #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Title: John Morrison def. R-Truth by pin following Starship Pain to take R-Truth’s spot in the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules.
    • Dolph Ziggler def. Evan Bourne by pin following the Zig Zag.
    • John Cena & Sin Cara def. The Miz & Alex Riley by Sin Cara pinning Alex Riley following a springboard moonsault.
    • Eve def. Nikki Bella (with Brie Bella) by roll-up.
    • Non-Title: Sheamus def. Santino Marella by pin following the Brogue Kick.
    • WrestleMania Rematch: The New Nexus Banned: Randy Orton def. CM Punk by roll-up.

    Detailed Results

With Michael Cole in his “Cole Mine” and Hall of Famers Jim Ross & Jerry “The King” Lawler calling the action from the announce table, the show kicks off with one of the two #1 Contenders for the WWE Title in a Triple Threat Match at Extreme Rules, R-Truth, as Truth proclaims that he is going to walk out of Extreme Rules as the WWE Champion! Truth continues that, once he is the WWE Champion, he is going to be a “fighting champion”! John Morrison then comes out and tells R-Truth that he is “happy” for Truth, but Truth had some help from “lady luck” last week with The New Nexus attacking Randy Orton! R-Truth responds by saying that he had to fight “three people” and Morrison says Truth was “lucky” considering the “shape” Truth is in! Truth disputes that he is in the “best shape” of his “life”, which leads to John Morrison presenting footage from last week’s RAW that shows R-Truth having a seat in the corner and taking a couple of drinks of water during John Cena’s entrance into the match!

John Morrison then states that he would hate to see R-Truth in his “worst shape” and states that Truth is in “good shape for an athlete who smokes”! Truth admits that he has been trying to “quit” smoking and Morrison states that being a smoker does not make Truth a “bad guy”! R-Truth then accuses John Morrison of trying to get him to face Morrison in a match and put his spot in the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules on the line! Morrison responds by saying that “you’re on” because, with the 2011 WWE Draft next week, it could be their last opportunity to face each other! R-Truth states that he is “not prepared to fight”, he is out there to “celebrate” becoming one of the #1 Contenders for the WWE Title before asking the London fans if they want to see R-Truth go one-on-one with John Morrison and Truth jokes that he needs “two things”, a “bottle of water” and a “cigarette”! Morrison then states that Truth also needs “luck” before calling a referee out to officiate the match!

After being suckered into a match by comments made by John Morrison, one of the two #1 Contenders for the WWE Title, R-Truth, would go one-on-one with “The Prince of Parkour” John Morrison with R-Truth’s spot in the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules on the line! In the end, it was John Morrison hitting Starship Pain on R-Truth en route to picking up the win and taking R-Truth’s spot in the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules! After the match, John Morrison would confront R-Truth in the corner as Truth was in disbelief over losing his title opportunity, but when Morrison turned his back to celebrate his win, Truth would attack Morrison, pulling Morrison off of the second turnbuckle! Truth would then follow this up with a knee to the skull of Morrison, sending Morrison to the outside where a disturbed R-Truth would hit a running knee on John Morrison, smashing Morrison’s head in between Truth’s knee and the ringside barricade before Truth would pick up a bottle of water and smash it against the head of Morrison before Truth would hit the What’s Up on Morrison on the outside of the ring! After his attack on his former friend, R-Truth would take a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from a fan and would light up a cigarette before blowing smoke on Morrison and flicking the cigarette at Morrison! How will John Morrison respond to this vicious and uncomfortable attack by R-Truth?

Abandoning his golden locks for a crew cut brown hairstyle, the “new and improved” (as proclaimed by Dolph’s “business associate”, Vickie Guerrero) Dolph Ziggler would go one-on-one with Evan Bourne! In the end, it was Evan Bourne missing Air Bourne that would allow Dolph Ziggler to hit the Zig Zag on Bourne en route to picking up the win!

Two weeks before he defends the WWE Title in a Triple Threat Match against John Cena and, now, John Morrison at Extreme Rules, WWE Champion The Miz states that he has been preparing to face R-Truth and John Cena at Extreme Rules, but now he has to prepare to face John Morrison and John Cena before revealing that the Triple Threat Match will take place in a Steel Cage Match! The Miz then proclaims that he is not going to leave the ring until the anonymous General Manager of RAW makes it “right”!

With WWE Champion The Miz and his associate, Alex Riley, still in the ring, the masked international sensation, Sin Cara, would make his entrance for his scheduled match against Alex Riley, but Cara would be faced with battling both The Miz and Alex Riley, but John Cena would come out to even the odds before the anonymous GM would chime in with an email that announces that they will have a tag team match as Sin Cara would team with one of The Miz’s opponents in the Triple Threat Steel Cage Match for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules, John Cena, to face WWE Champion The Miz and Alex Riley! In the end, it was John Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment on Alex Riley and Sin Cara following it up with a springboard moonsault on Riley en route to picking up the win for himself and Cena! Where will these four Superstars end up when the WWE is shaken to its core in the annual WWE Draft next week? Could WWE Champion The Miz be drafted to SmackDown?

In another disturbing vignette akin to last week’s, a large and muscular female tears a brunette doll limb from limb before laughing maniacally! When will we see the debut of this dangerous Diva?

One week after Brie Bella used questionable means to become the Divas Champion, Brie’s twin sister, Nikki Bella, would go one-on-one with the former Divas Champion, Eve! In the end, it was Eve coming out of nowhere with a roll-up on Nikki Bella to pick up the win!

Two weeks before he teams with Jack Swagger to face the Hall of Fame team of Jim Ross & Jerry “The King” Lawler at Extreme Rules, the self-proclaimed “Voice of the WWE” Michael Cole would make an appearance on RAW to become “knighted” as “Sir Michael Cole”, but before the knighting, Cole would introduce his trainer, Jack Swagger, who had apparently forgiven Cole for the slap to the face from last week! Swagger would place a royal cape on Michael Cole before presenting a parchment scroll as Swagger reads that, after RAW, Cole will no longer be referred to as “Mr. WrestleMania”, he will be referred to as “Sir Michael Cole” before Swagger introduces “Queen Elizabeth”! The Queen then asks Michael Cole if he promises to “uphold” the “nobility” of the United Kingdom before Cole agrees and The Queen “knights” Cole before the commentator plants a kiss on The Queen! As The Queen makes her exit, Michael Cole tries to get a chant of “Sir Michael Cole” started before the “knight” calls Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler “peasants” and tells them to come into the ring and “kiss” his feet!

Michael Cole then exposes his foot, which has a grotesque fungus on it, as Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler enter the ring, but as soon as they do, Jack Swagger attacks Jerry Lawler and sends Lawler over the ringside barricade on the outside! Michael Cole would then appear ready to fight Jim Ross, but Jack Swagger would come back into the ring and hold the Hall of Famer and would proceed to lock in the ankle lock on J.R. as Michael Cole forces Ross to kiss his grotesque foot! How will Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler respond to this attack by Michael Cole and Jack Swagger?

The United States Champion would be in action on RAW as United States Champion Sheamus would go one-on-one with former WWE Tag Team Champion Santino Marella in a non-title match! In the end, it was Sheamus blasting Santino Marella with the Brogue Kick en route to picking up the win!

Then it was time for the main event as, after The New Nexus returned and cost him the #1 Contender’s spot for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules, Randy Orton would be looking for revenge as “The Viper” would go one-on-one with the leader of The New Nexus, CM Punk, in a WrestleMania Rematch with The New Nexus banned from ringside! At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Randy Orton coming out of nowhere with a roll-up on CM Punk to pick up the win! After the match, The New Nexus would come out as David Otunga, Michael McGillicutty, & Mason Ryan would surround the ring before commencing a beat down on Randy Orton! The seemingly unstoppable monster, Mason Ryan, would order Otunga & McGillicutty to give Orton to him as Ryan would deliver a vicious STO to “The Viper”! After leaving Randy Orton laid out, Mason Ryan would shove his New Nexus teammates and tell them to stay away from Orton as Ryan looked ready to deliver Orton’s signature punt to Orton himself! However, CM Punk would step in and convince his large follower to allow him the honors, but while all this transpired, Orton had time to recover and, when Punk tried to punt Orton, Orton would pop up and deliver a lightning-quick RKO to CM Punk before making his quick exit! How will CM Punk react to his plan for Randy Orton going array? What will be the fate of CM Punk & The New Nexus after the annual WWE Draft next week?
